Still have the same problem (Huawei Mate20 and Versa 2, Spotify premium family account).

Frustrating.

I log in the app with a premium spotify account, but after about 30 minutes it unregistered my premium account and show that I only have a free account when this is not true. I have to log out and log back in which is really annoying.  Anyone have any ideas are why this happens?

Same here it kicks me out of my premium account like every 15 minutes and I can't use the versa 2 control. Super frustrating because the spotify control is one of the main reasons I got this watch

I just bought the Versa 2 less than a week ago, and I keep having to log out and back in via facebook, because it switches from working, to, after about an hour, saying i'm a free user. Has anybody had the issue/knows how to alleviate it?

I am getting frustrated that my spotify premium keeps reverting to free version despite multiple attempts to log in... it will worknfor a few hours and stop. Then I log in again and it says no connection... ultimately I have to renoot both my phone as well as the watch. I am about to return this watch for a samsung...

How are you guys doing with tracing this very annoying bug? It was working before, so you should be able to fix this. Premium still reverts back to FREE after about one sync session onwards. Has Spotify changed something in their API?
There are NO workarounds for this bug, other than logging out and back in again. As said, the Premium login will 'stick' for only about one sync session.

Not add much substance to this thread, but just here to say I have been having the same issue too for the past 2 months or so.

It was working great the first month the app came out.  Still trying to stay positive and hopeful that the issue will be fixed soon.

(better yet, new feature for offline playing on my ionic would be perfect !!)

Hello,

I appear to be having this same issue with a Versa 2 connected to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus device. The Spotify app will log revert from my premium subscription to a free plan. I know this as the watch will display no internet connection even though this is not the case. I understand my device is not listed as a compatible phone, however the device is operating fine with the Versa 2 apart from Spotify app. Please do not reply with I have answered my own question because I will consider as unhelpful. There are lots of users reporting this issue so this needs to be acted on now. I was given this device as a gift for Xmas and the main reason I have it is to use Spotify for my training and control the device remotely with the watch. To say I am disappointed is an over statement.

I think it must be something with Fitbit's Spotify code during the authentication, cause sometimes you can very shortly see the premium revert back to free when you open the apps settings. My guess is that the authentication fails to save the hash for account type to the Fitbit app...

edit: By the way, for everyone affected: there has been a Spotify app in the app gallery for some time longer than the original. It's called 'HR for Spotify'. It lacks the Spotify Connect -switch-devices-option- , but other than that it works pretty well 😁 (a bit slower, but at least it retains the login 😜). Just search the gallery for 'Spotify' and it should pop up....

Thank you very much, yep I think you are right. It's not device related it seems,  so could it be that Spotify have made adjustments to there API.

Thanks

Highly unlikely... since the third party app 'HR for Spotify' still works 😎

Hi @seemebreakthis and @Moaske. It's good to see you here. @Nicolm19781, welcome on board.

Thanks for joining this thread and sharing your insights about this situation. I know how you feel about this app and your concern about getting it working again. Our team is aware about this behavior and they're currently working on it so it can be fixed soon. While I don't when that will happen, please make sure to keep your watches and the Fitbit app updated to the latest version.

You can also give a try to the great suggestion shared by @Moaske or use the control music function which allows you to control personal music playing on your phone. I'll update this thread once I have more details from the team.

How close are we to a fix? Trying to decide if I should return the Fitbit, this is a dealbreaker for me.

Thanks. My gf bought me this as a gift, and I ended up signing up for Spotify premium just because I thought it worked with the Fitbit even though I already have Youtube Music Premium. What a shame. That other app does work, but man is it slow.
