RESOLVED: EU Daylight Saving Time Issues: 03/31/2019

Update: Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding with issues related to Daylight Saving Time changes. If you are still seeing unexpected behavior on your device, please perform a manual sync by following these steps. Once your device has synced, you should see everything working properly again.

 

If this doesn't help, we'd expect the next midnight rollover tonight to help get things back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are ensuring that the concerns in this thread are heard by the larger team. 


Daylight Saving Time took place in Europe this past Sunday morning. Some features on your Fitbit device may be affected. These issues should be resolved by syncing after the time change. If you continue to have trouble with any of the following features, please proceed with the troubleshooting steps below:

 

Sleep logs may be off by an hour and graphs may show incorrect data
- Try editing your sleep log to reflect the correct amount of sleep by following the steps here.

 

Hourly Activity Goals and Reminders To Move may change to a different timeframe
- We recommend switching Reminders To Move to “off” so that you aren’t receiving these reminders until the issue is sorted. You can re-enable the feature the next day.

 

Device time may be off by one hour
- Restart your phone to make sure the time is correct there first, and then manually sync your device.

 

Silent alarms may be off by one hour
- We recommend setting a backup alarm on your phone or clock if you need to be woken up on Sunday morning. Your device's alarms should be accurate as soon as your the time updates by syncing with an phone/computer that shows the correct time.

 

We recommend turning on All Day Sync so that your device has the best chance of being up to date. Once your device has synced and updated to the new time, you should be all set. If you've tried the above troubleshoots and still have difficulty, rest assured that these issues should resolve themselves the next day. Thank you for your understanding.

Another change in the clocks and yet another instance of the sleep tracker going awry. How many more times is this going to happen before the bug is fixed?!

 

I'm using a Charge HR and my sleep data - and heart rate data - seem to have been overlayed for an hour:

I've looked back through the community posts and every time the clocks change, users raise this as an issue, and every time there is the same response:

I have tried the suggestions given by the moderators and they don't work; manually editing the sleep log doesn't make a difference. Therefore, it doesn't seem reasonable to write that these issues are "RESOLVED". They are not resolved!

 

Please fix this issue, properly. Sleep data is very important to me and being told to manually correct it (i.e. guess what happened) is not a valid resolution.

My Fitbit is showing the correct time (forward one hour - GMT+1) but the dashboard on the app is not correct. It’s gone forward another hour.

Ive tried changing from set time automatically to manual, forces sync, log out & back in - nothing has worked

Never had this issue before an have been using Fitbits since December 2015 😥

Love my Fitbit and have not gone one day without one and hopefully never will 😍

Me too. I just assumed it was an April Fool’s joke, I got fireworks and 10744 steps at one minute past midnight, 1st April, 2019. It was also the end of the first day of daylight saving time. I see it’s happened a couple of times before. Weird.

Same for me - had the fireworks but reality is only 1965 steps not 10,000 - the chart is right the dashboard isn't

Mines the same. Reset doesn't alter it.

If this is Fitbit's idea of an April fool's joke then it is in bad taste.

My wife's Garmin doesn't do this, and its easier to sync and alter settings on it as well as it remembering the previous day's steps and other activities!  Much better

Mine also didn't reset and is adding the steps of March 31st to April 1st..

I'm kind of relieved to see that I'm not the only one with this problem, however, unfortunately nobody seems to know how to solve it.. I hope we get the answer fairly quickly! I'm curious and annoyed at the same time..

So annoying, but glad to know it isn't just me whose fitbit didn't reset at midnight. Fingers crossed they sort this asap.
