Call and text notifications not received

I have an Alta HR which connects and receives calls and text notifications but I've been unable to get the same for Flex 2. Have done everything - phone reboot, reinstalling app, resetting device, turning Bluetooth off and on etc. Support not provided any help. I am about to return it but my last resort is to ask for any suggestions? Thanks

@Babs2Cricket Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Flex 2 not getting notifications and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Which phone are you using? Is it compatible? Note that if you are using an Android device and have both trackers nearby then notifications will only reach to one device as stated here. You can try refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for your comprehensive reply.

I've checked and confirmed that my phone is compatible. Having taken into
account that Android phones will only send notifications to one device in
range, I removed the Alta but that has made no difference.

I've reset the Flex 2, checked the phone notification settings and they're
on. I've even installed a Fit notification widget! I did manage to receive
a Messenger call notification from my IPad so am assuming Apple products
work. I am entirely at a loss. The device has to be returned.

@Babs2Cricket thank you for the update. You did add something interesting about this issue. You mentioned that your Flex 2 received a call notification from your iPad. When using notifications your devices will only get notifications from a primary device (phone/tablet). In this case I suggest you repeat step 1 from my previous post in both your iPad and your phone and then setup notifications for your Flex 2 on your phone only.

Keep me posted.

Hi,

Thank you. So, I feel I've gone backwards. After the reboot and reinstall,
when I try to set up notifications I get the following message:
"notification service not running. A phone restart is required to enable
notifications on your tracker"

Straightforward I thought. However, the said restart did not solve the
issue. Any suggestions, please let me know.
