Flex2 Swim Tracking Problem

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since there are so many posts related to swimming, it seems that there is a problem with Flex2's ability to track swimming, as I also have experienced.  For me, it's been 4 days since I started using it, but every swim is being recorded as elliptical.  I have called support and they said they will escalate it to their next tier level for further research.  I think Fitbit should own this problem more seriously.  It's crazy that users have to reset it multiple times, change the auto-recognition time, etc.  If the software needs to be updated, they should work on that. I bought it solely to track my daily swimming exercise and I am very disappointed.

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear about your difficulties with tracking your swim sessions. It is important that your tracker detects your movement while swimming so I suggest you wear it on your dominant hand but select the other hand as dominant in the tracker's settings to make it more sensitive to movement. Also note that you need to swim for at least 10 consecutive minutes in order for the activity to be properly recorded. You could also try restarting your tracker to see if this helps. You can find additional tips in my previous post.

Keep me posted.

It's been over a year and a half since my original post, but I wanted to let whoever that's reading this that my fitbit is recording swimming for the last year or so. I dfidn't do anything but it started to work correctly. Sometimes the lap count is a off by a small number, but I am happy that it recognizes swimming begin and end times correctly.  Since the lap count is off sometimes, I made a suggestion to add lap count editing in the app.

Mine also tracks swimming a lot better than it did before. Still very irritating: It doesn't let you edit the workouts in yard or meter increments, only in miles. This is frustratingly inexact. I actually keep a separate log of yardage that is accurate to the yard because I participate in a USMS program each year.

Hi Koolson,  hmmm...my fitbit app does let me edit the distance swam, and it lets me change the unit between miles and meters, but not yards.  If it lets me edit the number of laps, that would be the best for me.
