This forum is full of questions about different meals, ideas to share, tips and tricks of what to buy or how to make a recipe.... I thought it would be fun to see the flipside of the coin.
What is a food item you regret trying, and would never use or do again? And why ?
Here is my little tale: I look to find snack foods that are low carb. Crackers are something I try to replace with alternatives. I grabbed a bag of Annie Chun's Cracked Pepper and Herb seaweed snacks from the grocery. Hmm... seaweed wrapped around sushi was pretty good... why not as an herbed snack? Cracked pepper? Even better!
Uhm, NO. It was flimsy. It stuck to my tongue like a Listerine strip; But let me assure you - wasnt as refreshing. It tasted like day-old fish in the fridge. Could not find the cracked pepper, either. Needless to say, the entire package made its way to the trash can and I will nevermore look at those again with any level of admiration.
So, whats your moment?

Green eggs and ham. Yes, on Saint Patrick's one year, my daughter added green food coloring to scrambled eggs. They looked gross! But I tried them...
Say! I like green eggs and ham!
And I would eat them in a boat!
An I would eat them with a goat!...........

Greek yogurt. I've tried to like it. I can't even eat half the container.

Oh so many things!
-Onions. In any form. I really hate the taste and the texture, and everyone puts them in everything! Luckily my husband doesn't like them either and we've switched to making our own tomato sauce which is onion-less, so I rarely have to taste them these days.
-Most cooked veg. Other than certain things like corn, I much rather eat raw green beans, carrots, etc.
-Apple breakfast quinoa. I like quinoa with garlic, and lemon on a bed of spinach, and I like apples, but I made this breakfast one once and it was terrible. I made a whole crock pot full and it all got thrown out. It tasted like dirt covered in rotting apples. Not nice!
These are just a few... 🙂

Unfortunately, there aren't many foods I don't like. LOL Peaches are at the top of the icky list for me, along with cooked peppers. I must be weird, I love hummus, kale, yogurt, and quinoa.

There are very few foods I don't eat, but I can't stomach chamomile anything. As a child, we always had chamomile shampoo so even a slight whiff of the scent tells me I'm trying to consume shampoo. I just can't do it.
Also, I will absolutely never try the (poisonous) pufferfish that chefs train for 3 years to be licensed to prepare (fugu). No thank you - it can't be delicious enough for the risk of death IMO.

Well I'll definately add my vote for kale chips. For me they're one of those things that seems like they should taste good but then just don't. I really do like most things. Quinoa for breakfast with a small scoop of salted carmel greek yogurt, vanilla soy milk, and a shake of cinnamon. I love the taste and I stay full for hours! As I get older I find that I like green peppers less and less. They seem slimey if they're over cooked but they hurt my stomach if they're raw or under cooked so I've just started avoiding them. I love red, orange, and yellow though - raw with hummus mmmmm!

I second the kale loving. I can't stand any and all artificial sweeteners. The aftertaste gets me everytime. So that eliminates 9/10ths of the "diet" foods out there.

One day my friend and I went to a restaurant where the wraps are the main dish. She asked grated coconut on her wrap (and also some extra grated coconut) needless to say I don't like coconut. Any way, by some reason our wraps mixed and we ate each other's wrap. I would never ever ate a wrap with grated coconut.
