After the new OS update, I am unable to save my custom stats. I like to view particular things when I run, bike, etc. I work out 2-4 times a day, and it is frustrating to have to reset these before every single exercise. Anyone know what is going on with it?
I think I discovered the problem and I think I have a solution.
1. Restore factory settings
2. Choose the customized statistics you want. These will be saved without problem.
3. As soon as you change the format of the clock, you will not be able to change the options anymore. They will always remain as you had them.
I hope this help
Gonna give this a try and report back.

Best AnswerDon't know if this will work for anyone else but for some reason the problem on my Fitbit resolved w/o any updates from Fitbit and the only thing I can think of doing differently is that I've stopped manually going into the fitbit app and syncing my watch after my workouts.... instead I just turn the phone's BT on and it'll sync automatically w/o even having to open the app... I noticed after a few times of syncing like this the activities I just did remained with the stats as I had customed them and now everything is set up how I like it and doesn't chage back.
Haven't done a manual sync since but auto sync has been working fine and my custom stats have remained the way I wanted them for about 2 weeks now going into week 3 today.
Hope someone else can try this and see if this will help!
Best AnswerImagine that... This actually worked for me. Great workaround!

Best AnswerHi shielalle,
Have you tried to do it?
It works for me!
If you change the watch's format, the custom statistics are "locked" as you would have left them.
But if you do not change the format of the watch, you can make as many changes as you want, and they will always be recorded.
P.D: Sorry if English is not good, I use a spanish - english translator.
Thanks Rockubo! This seems to have worked for me. I'll give a week or so before I declare full victory, but it's working now.
Based on this: the problem from Fitbit is that their code for control of custom stats gets "locked" whenever a new clock face is chosen? or I wonder if it's ANY modification away from factory basic?
Best AnswerNice one.
I didn't bother with the restore factory settings part but used the other steps and it seems to have worked.
I opened the app, synced my ionic. I then chose my stats before selecting a new watch face.
Hey presto! my custom stats have been locked in 🙂

Hey everyone!
I appreciate the workaround that you've shared as this can help others in the Community. All your feedback and experiences are welcomed.
Rest assure that our team is continuously working to resolve it and looking forward for a solution. At the moment the workaround that Fitbit proposes is to change your settings at the beginning of the exercise. As soon as we have any update, it will be posted there.
Your patience and understanding while this is resolved is appreciated.

Glad to see owners have found a work around. I do wonder how long it takes Fitbit to do coding, as this issue has been going on since April on the two flagship products and you've still not fixed it! Doesn't fill me with confidence after I've spent three hundred quid. Look up cognitive dissonance.....
EDIT: Tried it and it didn't work for me. Getting seriously annoyed now.
Darn it!
Didn’t work. 😞
Maybe I don’t know how to “change the format of the clock?” Does that mean just change the clock face?
Tried the same thing, swapping my clock face. Didn't work for me either.
Come on Fitbit get your act together.....
Ok so I fixed my tracker!
Out of desperation I just restarted my Ionic. Pushed & held the left Back button and the right lower button at the same time, let go when I saw the Fitbit logo. The watch restarted. I set my “walking” preferences and now they stay!
Maybe a glitch? All I know is now my preferences stay, YAY!
Best AnswerSo, if I understood Google translate correctly, you can only get the exercise stats to display correctly if you never change the clock from default!
BTW, restarting my watch made no difference. It still won't let me do custom stats.
Best AnswerYou have to make the change when the clock is at the default setting. Once you change away from that, the custom settings are “locked”. That’s what’s happening with mine.
Best AnswerRight, you can fix it yourself, as already mentioned BUT it's a lot of work.
It involves a full factory reset and reload of anything you have customised / bought. Get it back to factory state, get exercise stats up as you wish. Change the watchface and it stayed changed.
It took about an hour, plus I add to figure out how to reload paid for apps, but it worked. Not for the fainthearted!
UPDATE : Well, my the watch wasn't keen on synching after it's factory restart. After much mucking around I had to get the app to forget the phone and reinstall it. My phone kept all it's data and apps BUT, the app reset all the custom stats (in fact put all the original ones back) and left me back at square one.
It would appear the problem is in how the phone app controls things.....
Frankly I can't face another factory reset, this is just stupid.
Hello, Customized Run and Bike settings are not saved, therefore they are only Temporary settings. We have 4 Ionics and this BS is getting very old. A six year old child could write the programming code to save the last custom setting.
