Custom stats not saving

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After the new OS update, I am unable to save my custom stats. I like to view particular things when I run, bike, etc. I work out 2-4 times a day, and it is frustrating to have to reset these before every single exercise. Anyone know what is going on with it?

the link does not work, I wonder if there is an error in the link.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding custom stats not saving on your watch.

I still do not have any updates regarding this. However, our team has received the feedback from everyone in this thread and is working to investigate these reports further. In the meantime, you will need to change your settings at the beginning of the exercise.

I will share updates from the team when I hear them. Thanks for your patience.

They have known about it for a while. They didn't JUST get the information now.

I've been having this issue since day one with my versa and it is really annoying.  Pretty disheartening to see that the issue is over four months old and has not received any attention. Anyone have James Park's contact info so we can tell him his employees have completely dropped the ball on this one?

I have called support twice about this issue.

First, I experienced that the run settings for lap distance would always revert back to 0.5mi after every run, but all the other settings would not be affected (Show Laps, Customize Stats).

So I called support and they responded me that I needed to perform a factory reset. I did that, updated the firmware, updated the mobile app, etc. After doing that I ended up with a DIFFERENT problem...

Now, the Lap Distance does not reset after every run (it stays on the previous setting), but the Show Laps and the Customize Stats settings are ALL reset.

I just got off the phone with Fitbit tier 1 support again and they opened a ticket. They wouldn't permit me to return the device under warranty since they said it was a 'non-standard' fault (a standard fault would be a battery or display issue).

What is interesting about this issue is that the settings that are affected were different after I performed a factory reset and firmware update. This could indicate that they have a hardware volatile memory issue that affect many devices but not all. The configuration settings are stored in volatile memory, but after a firmware update the addressable memory blocks are overwritten. If there are bad blocks that are not being marked as bad, the firmware might be writing to these blocks, and the configuration settings could be corrupted.

I am a device firmware engineer (hardware and software), and I have seen this kind of thing before on mobile phones when I worked on mobile phone development.

Even though this appears to be a hardware memory issue, Fitbit should be able to create a workaround in firmware by testing the read/write/erase of the addressable configuration memory during the firmware update process to mark bad blocks, so that the device will not write to those blocks at all.

This is not a complex issue to solve. Put me in charge of the firmware engineers and I'll fix the problem myself - it shouldn't take several months to fix.

I have the same thing going on and it’s a decent chunk of time after your initial report. Fitbit, what’s going on? When will a new software release happen that will fix this issue?

Can confirm I also have this frustrating issue with my 1 month old Ionic. I run most days, quite annoying to have to set the stats settings every time I run.

Just adding my voice to the long list of complaints. I've since noticed that this particular glitch is only resetting on Bike exercise i.e. bottom stat reverts to default after syncing. Other stats seem stable and Run stats seem stable. It probably wouldn't worry me but bottom stat of lap time is useless for out & back ride where I'd really love to know time of day. I noticed that the more I manually changed the stats to what I wanted, the settings remained how I wanted the next time I went to the exercise.

This is very annoying. For the first 8 months I had my Ionic this worked well. Now I can't save custom stats for exercise along with other issues since updates have come through (unknown caller on the ID, "clear" a message actually marks it as read on my phone, etc). All issues that weren't there originally. How does that happen?

Adding my frustration here as well. I'm a new user with the Ionic for the last several months and have been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm just sorry it took me so long before I came to the forum.

This really, really needs to be fixed!

This topic is so old..

I stopped Hope for any update from Fitbit.

This is the same for other subjects like swim in Open water or link swim to strava.

Unfortunatly, devellopers seems to be very busy develloping New products.( Versa and more...)

Writting here has no more impact than post a letter to the water Closer...

Sorry
