@Margotbowen I hope you're doing well! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with your Ionic.
Please try these tips for batteries that are not charging. Also, try a restart on your watch. If non of that works please try changing the clock face on your Ionic.
@Urmuz I hope you're doing well too. Thank you very much for sharing the experience you are having. Thanks for sharing the video showing what's happening.
Please try the same steps I shared above on this post in order to sort this out. It is worth giving that a try.
Also, lease consider trying the workaround shared by @wasori on his post too.
Keep me posted!

Try restarting the Ionic - press both the Left hand 'Back' button and the lower right hand button untill the fitbit logo comes up (around 10 seconds or so). If that doesnt do it try a Factory Reset by going to the Settings App, scroll to About. Select that and scroll to Factory Reset.
Let us know how you go.

Try plugging the charging cable into the Ionic and power source, then press and hold the left button and bottom right button together for 15 secs. See if that works.

Yes I think that will be the best thing at this point. Customer service are usually very good, so I would expect you to be back on track in no time.

Mine just died. Won't turn back on even after following the steps recommended above. Not sure what to do. Should I take it back to best buy and get another one? It will probably be defective too.

I have a feeling this is going to be a major recall- I am selling my stock on Monday- this is not a good sign for Fitbit.

I had the same issue today on my four week old iconic. The button reset worked! Thanks for the advice!

DID you solve your issue? I was using watch for 16 days, not a bother with it, apart of syncing issues. I noticed it is much more eager to sync with my old samsung s5 than newer samsung s7. But this morning my ionic died... Reaquescat In Pace. Screen died, could turn on, couldnt reset, two computers didnt see it via bluetooth or cable. What is more... I have an USB tester and I found out that before my ionic died it was taking approx 0.170A current when charging. This morning, after reading few posts I put it in to charge hoping to reset it again after. Was charging for about 2 hours ( usually battery was full after that time ), for two hours, my USB tester showed mi around 600mAh charged into Ionic with current constantly on 0.070A and Ionic was very hot after this... again couldn't turn on, couldn't reset, coulnt do nothing. So wen't to the shop where I got it and change to new one... giving it a second chance, But I think it is a battery issue as it was first time when my ionic get fully drained. Try to avoid it !!

Hi, @pretzeltrack112, if it dies completely it will need to be on the charger for a little while before it will respond at all. I would suggest plugging it in to charge in the usual way and leave it 20 to 30 minutes and then check to see if it has come back to life.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

The fitbit itself isn't dead, just the screen. I can't get a response from it even when it's on the charger. The last time it synced was ten last night and the app shows my battery life at full. I've tried resetting it with the tworight buttons both on the charger and off. And still nothing. I've tried to sync it manually and nothing. So I unpaired it, restarted my phone, and now I can't get out to pair again. The green light in the back is still on, so I know it's not dead. However, I've also noticed a small red light, no sure if that's always been there.

That is extremely odd behavior @pretzeltrack112, I might consider Contacting Support.

Hi
I had exactly the same problem too . Only had my working for two hours, the battery first said full and then said empty. It wouldn't charge at all and the screen only came on when it was plugged in to the USB charger. Fitbit support said there was a problem so have returned it for a replacement

@pretzeltrack112, there is definitely no red light on my Ionic, so it sounds like there is a fault. As @DramaQueenDiva suggested, it sounds like it is time to contact Fitbit Customer Support. You can reach them on contact.fitbit.com.
Alternatively, it may be quicker to return it where you bought it.
