FItbit needs to get the return/replace policy together. They are now saying it will take 5 days to ship me a new Ionic after they receive my busted one. Really 5 days to ship, come on fitbit you have to do better then that.

I've tried all the tricks nothing is working.  I was warned not to buy this,  but loved my previous fitbit so much.  The ionic had been nothing but a headache,  Im so disappointed! I saved to buy this all for nothing.  Guess now I have to deal with support which Im sure will be yet another headache.  Don't release the product when there are so many bugs! Shame on you fitbit!

Follow up:

So I contacted Fitbit and they were very pleasant and cooperative.  They instructed me to send the device back and they would replace it.  So I mailed the defective Ionic on 03/05/18.  I have not heard anything since that time, so today I checked in with them.  They informed me that according to "records" they are set to receive my device on 03/20/18.  So it is taking more than 2 weeks for them to receive my defective device.  I asked it it was being sent to China and I did not get a response.  Now I'm guessing it will take over a month to get a replacement item.  Fitbit really should be ashamed.  There are a lot of fitbit users out there just being used and abused.  This frustrates me beyond belief.

My ionic died during the night, battery was 57% hours earlier. I fired up a chat session with Fitbit support in the morning. After an hour of 'chat' they authorized a replacement.

But first I had to take a rather elaborate video of my fingers doing an ionic factory-reset against a backdrop showing a special passcode while proving the charging cable was plugged into a USB port on a working laptop. After publishing to YouTube and sending them the link they reviewed my cinematic debut for 5 minutes before they were convinced my ionic had died.

in the past my surges were replaced very soon after returning the dead ones, I'm hoping they're just as prompt this time. Don't mess around with your dead ionic, get some support; they've always treated me fairly.

Update; 2 weeks later: Fitbit must pay Fedex extra money for the longest possible delivery time. My package has been in the area for days - this morning it transferred to the USPS.

Ionic died 2nd time and stayed dead.

First time i managed to revive it with 2 or 3 button press while connected, but it started when it wanted to, several hours later. Charged to 100% but noticed severe battery drain straight away, losing 60% in 4 hours. Auto-sync, notifications, etc. all OFF. Then it died with 30% battery remaining and remained dead, won't react to any press. It sometimes shows 0% and no matter if i keep it the whole night charging, won't move past the 0%.

I noticed it gets very hot while charging and it also has some condense behind the sensor foil. Somehow water got inside i suspect, shortcircuit-ing something sooner or later. Will send it in for replacement. Utterly disappointed with the product.

Happened a week ago and I thought it *might* just need charging because it came back on after being plugged in. Happened again tonight, synced successfully, and within a 15 minute drive to the gym, it won't turn back on now. I tried all the button variations mentioned in this thread. I'm hoping I can exchange it soon. I love the device, but having issues like this when it's less than a month old is unacceptable, especially when apparently, I am not the only one.

Had a similar issue yesterday.. went to start an exercise, and all of a sudden screen went off and couldn't do the reset..  so, thought battery was dead.  Got it home, put it on charger.. still wouldn't work..  it briefly flashed up with charging icon - there was still 40%charge apparently (this has never warned me it's getting low, and the app seems innacurate how much battery is left)  I had to hold ALL 3 buttons down for near 10 secs to get it to reset in the end.  All of a sudden too, there seems to be major lagging when going through menus..

I tried hold various combination of buttons for 10 - 15 seconds with the
charger connected as mentioned throughout this thread.

I tried all 3 at once, left and bottom, left and top, left only, top only,
bottom only, top and bottom. No luck. Going to try to exchange it @ Best
Buy today, but I'm really disappointed. I've only had it for 3 weeks!

From the comments we have seen up to know it seems to be a chronical problem, not unique. So will it be solved by a simple software update? Can a moderator of this forum answer this question for us?

Mind does this about once a month at first I would charge it and it just would not do anything in fact I have had two first one I sent back when it went dead (30 days no questions) when the second on did the same thing I let it sit till the battery ran down then I put it on the charger and it came back on. It has done that twice now. I'd like to know why it does that.

My fitbit charge 2 was dead with the same problem, dead screen, flashing hr sensor etc. Up to now i was happy with my fitbit in spite of those errors yes it is user friendly and fitness based but i have to say that it is not reliable... ı dond wanna change my band once a year, not not logical...
