Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all! Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there. Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 27.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update to 20% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Ionic into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Try restarting your watch. Press and hold left and bottom right buttons until it restarts. I am seeing the full 7 options.

I am using the Fitbit Ionic with the firmware 33.1.30 and the iOS app 2.84. Since the update the latest firmware, the synchronization does not work very well, i.e. more connection issues. The resting heart rate seems also to be off and does not seem to synchronize correctly / to be properly measured. The sleep data are also not updated. Are these known issues? Will there be a hotfix for the firmware released soon? Any hints?

Thanks for your reply!
I can see the water option on my Ionic but when I add any water logs they don't appear on my app. I've restarted too

As I stated above, I did tried that multiple times. 3-5 times in a row as was advised, and some other, single restarts during the time I was trying to update. I also did a factory reset, which to my amuse caused the 3.0 update to install again. But still, nothing helped.

My fitbit seems back to normal. However the battery level is not sync between the ionic and my phone app (v2.84). The ionic shows 87% the phone shows full battery. Also I logged water on the ionic and nothing sync to the phone app

Try going into the Starbucks app on the Fitbit app and download it again. I had to reenter my card number.

Isn't this firmware a hotfix to the last firmware that also magically disappeared ( I never got an option to update )? 🤣

After updating to the newest software my ionic now will frequently shut itself down and restart when I do the following:
1. Transfer music
2. Add or change watch faces
3. Install apps to the watch
I have attempted all of the troubleshooting steps. Forget device, delete app, remove ionic, factory reset...problem is still occurring. Is there a 3.1 software in the works? Solutions? Does apple have these issues when the push a new watch IOS to their devices?

Hi all! Great to see that so many of you have been able to update successfully.
@KT-SanDiego @SunsetRunner @SunsetRunner @Lynnettefayola To see the updates we made to "Fitbit Today" on the watch, try the following:
@Ebojager For the most recent version of the Windows app, check out this post.
@pll I would recommend performing a restart to refresh your watches system.
@Megan-Rubie @SGB_13 Our team is currently looking into similar issues with the water logging feature. A potential workaround is to simply force quit the app after you sync.
@Jens79 @drtechieMOH @chrisionic1 @BruceUK Sorry to hear about your experience. I have reached out to our support team to have a case created for you. They will be in touch via email.
Thanks for all the feedback related to this release, everyone. Hope you have a great holiday!

Some things to checkr/try
Check firmware number to confirm it is 27.33.1.30.
Make sure you are using latest version of the Fitbit app and update if necessary.
Do a synch of the app with your watch.
Try restarting your watch (press and hold left button and bottom right button until watch shuts down restarts).

Absolutely agree!!! Messed up my ionic as well right in the middle of my holiday break. It was working just fine and now half of my attention is wondering if it will work as good as before because right now it's a worthless piece of junk giving me trust issues with fitbit.

@MattFitbit When Fitbit releases version 2.84 of their app for Windows I will gladly update to it. Though based on the link you provided I am on the latest version 2.39.
I did eventually get this to update the today app by forcing a wifi connection while connected to the charging cable and manually forcing multiple syncs while repeatedly going in to the app on my device and trying to get it to push the update.
I also got the Weather app to work again and finally even update to Fahrenheit. Though it has since stopped providing me weather information (again).
It also took multiple forced syncs to finally see sleep time on the device.

your experiences are pretty much mine. It seems the app may stop syncing over night or something as it wasn't syncing my sleep this morning until I quit and reopened. Same with the weather for me too. I was so hoping for that to be fixed.
But what's is the worth of the today info if in order for it to work it needs to sync back to the app and then back to the watch??? Isn't the tracker storing the data?
