I got my Ionic last night, took an hour to set up and get synching (probably deserves a separate post - seems I am not the only one with this hard-to-setup issue).
I want to go for my usual run today, but when you click on the Strava app, it tells me that I don't have any recorded runs and to go for a run, but does not offer a way to start recording.
Am I to assume that I track the run under Exercise -> Run and after the run it will sync over?
(I have had Strava Premium for some time and been trying to get reliable suffer scores from my Fitbit Blaze - but it could not connect to the phone more often than not).
How do I track a run on the Ionic such that it will go to Strava and give me heart rate and suffer score?

Fitbit accurately posted my most recent rides to Strava, the Strava app on my device is not updating. Its only showing sessions from Sept 5th or earlier.

I'm confused about how Fitbit and Strava are supposed to work together. I took a ride this morning and use my Fitbit ionic to record the session. I see no indication that it will sync to my Strava account or vice versa. What is the intended functionality for Fitbit and Strava?

From what I understand it isnt that device that sync's to Strava you have to set up your fitbit account to sync with the strava app. Its a push setup. You need to login to your fitbit account and then go here.
https://strava.fitbit.com/ to join the accounts.

No I'm talking about the application on the Ionic is not updating.
I just noticed that no matter how many times I authorize it, i go back and check it says unauthorized.

Workout tracked on FitBit -> FitBit sends the data to Strava (this works perfectly btw)
To do this, follow the instructions in the comment above.
On FitBit, there's a Strava app. The Strava app is supposed to retrieve your workouts from Strava.
Since FitBit sent the session to Strava, I expect to see the Strava app sync and display my most recent sessions.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this but the Strava app doesn't appear to load "virtual" workouts either. My actual bike rides are loading on the Ionic but those rides done on a smart trainer are excluded.

I was facing the same issue until I realized that I need to sync my strava account with the fitbit. After doing so I was able to see me rides in my strava app on the phone but was not able to see anything on the fitbit ionic watch. It says "No recent activities"

I'm specifically talking about this:
I open the app from FitBit
1) It says "Not Authorized"
2) I authorize (now for about 1000th time)
And then go back later? It's not.
Rinse / Repeat.

I have been observing this behavior as well. I don't know if this impacts the sync ability between Strava and Fitbit as I see the rides recorded i the Strava app, however I don't see them in my watch under the Strava App.

Exact same problem here. Nothing shows on Strava app on ionic. Not even activity recorded on ionic.
Im all synced up with the ionic and my Strava phone app, just not the ionic app.
anyone had any joy resolving yet?

And magically, Strava is now syncing on its own. It's just extremely slow. I'm curious to see if yours syncs up as well?
Maybe something was up yesterday since the watch was officially released. Perhaps there was a lag because there were a lot of people settings things up?

Go to fitbit app>find strava>settigs>autorize.
I just did this and noe i see all activities.. i had same problem no recent activities shown but strava has to be autorized in your app first to show on Ionic!
🙈😉

I've struggled with the Ionic Strava app on the watch, not exactly sure what that should be showing. It tells me to go to on a run, but I basically only bike.
That said, I've been thrilled with the Ionic's ability to replace my strava app for my bike rides.
Go to strava.fitbit.com and sync your accounts.
You can either manually or automatically record a run/bike session, using the exercise option. I've been manually recording my bike rides out of habit. It might take several minutes, but after you finish your run/bike session, it'll sync with fitbit, which will then sync with Strava. My phones an "All Done! Your ride is ready to view." message once it's automatically synced to Strava.
As for seeing your recent runs/rides on your phone? Can't help there, I also don't see anything.

Hi Strava users, I've merged a few threads together on getting Strava to work on your Ionic. Thanks to
@bbarrera post and @MarreFitbit for shedding light on this issue. I also wanted to share the Fitbit help article on connecting Strava which can be found here.

Um, now that the runs are appearing on the ionic they are no longer appearing on the strava app on my phone. What am I doing wrong?

I cycled into work the other day and the Ionic automatically detected it and logged it as an activity with the title: Outdoor Bike. My Fitbit account is connected to the Strava account but this cycle never made its way into Strava. Any thoughts?
