UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.

Hi all!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

What’s New

Fitbit Today:

Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.

Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.

Music:

You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article

What’s Changed

Fitbit Watch Interface:

We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:

  • To see your notifications, swipe down from the clock face or press and hold the top button.
  • To see your stats and current battery level, swipe up from the clock face.
  • To access music controls, payments, and the shortcuts screen, press and hold the back button.
  • Access your music controls all on one screen.
  • We’ve changed the order of some of the apps on your watch.

To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.

Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.

I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Hi - I did the update and did not notice too many improvements.  Though I did notice that I can now not get it to sync! The last time it synced was on the 22nd. I have rebooted my phone and my ionic and nothing.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Forgot about settings on the watch but just checked and they are also turned on there...

Can we modify the Today screen that comes up?!? I work a job where my hands are frequently "not sterile" so I used to leave my watch set where I could see Steps Per Hour and HR when I flicked my wrist. Where has this gone?! I don't see the steps per hour at all and I hate to think that it's now useless to me for so many hours per day. I know my job sucks but I really liked being able to see those two things with a flick of my wrist. Can stuff be resized? I'm looking around but don't see how to do that. I'm really regretting hitting that update button 💔

I noticed that since the update, the battery life is horrible. Fully charged it last night around 9PM. By 7 AM this morning, it was already down to 84%!

Was most definitely NOT like that prior to the update. What's killing the battery? I have All-Day Sync Turned OFF.

I find it ridiculous that we pay upwards of $300  for the device and have to jump through so many hoops just to update the thing.

I'm having the exact same issues with mine, except mine won't update period. I find it ridiculous that we pay $300 for a device that can't simply update itself.

I'll echo some of the previous comments to this thread.

Since installing the firmware update I've had nothing but problems with the Ionic.  Honestly, pairing and syncing should be a simple process that should not require much effort.  Instead, my watch hasn't synced in days and I'm unable to view and use any stats.
What has been billed as a great piece of technology to help a person get fit is turning out to be worse than useless.  It's an EXPENSIVE piece of useless technology.
Yes, I've tried soft reset, factory reset, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, swiped left before resetting, etc.  Nothing has worked to get the thing to sync since the supposed "upgrade" to the firmware.

Has anyone found a reliable fix to this issue, or should I just return it and go back to my reliable, but much less fancy Nokia tracker?  It's insane that this issue should take hours to work through and still result in no resolution.

So glad my update failed.  I will wait for a later version and hope that FitBit learns how to test their products and updates between now and then.

Take it back to where u got it from and replace it for a new one. Or complain direct to Fitbit they are pretty good at trouble shooting and if they can’t get it to work they will replace it. As I have been there and done that with them when I had the blaze. I now have the iconic and so far so good. After the update a few days later I got a blank screen but managed to reset it and so far all good.  I can’t say I like the change they did total waste of time that’s was they should have left it the way it was. There was nothing wrong with it 😡😡

good luck

Haven't noticed my battery to be any different since the update, 87hrs off charge with 54% remaining.

Congratulations on your FCC Status, @N8teGee! I knew it was only a matter of time...

Customer service helped me figure it out. Thank you though.

I have seen nothing here to compel me to perform the update. I count myself lucky that I was able to recover my Ionic after 2 failed update attempts. I can still sync and as far as I can tell no ill effects have materialized.

So I count my blessings, warn all my Fitbit friends to run away from this update, and will continue to use my Fitbit as it was intended before this horrific update was rolled out. My advice to anyone is to ignore this update completely!

Ionic won't update either over bluetooth or Wi-Fi so hasn't syncd in over a week. Even uninstalled the app and tried again. Been like this since the last app software update

My Ionic is a month old and will not charge. It is absolutely dead. It is very clean and well taken care of. It stopped charging 2 days ago. I followed all the steps listed and nothing works.

Contact Fitbit support; they should be able to replace the tracker for you.
