My ionic completely died and I have tried to charge it for a few days now through that USB on my computer and in the wall with no luck. According to the app it says my battery is completely dead and phone will not connect to it. I have cleaned the cable and connections but the charger works for my wifes, so I know its the watch. I'm not sure what else to do? I've tried to restart it holding the buttons with no luck? Can someone please help?

You serious? You think we're all idiots and haven't tried this? Wow! Of course we've all tried this. The ionic is a piece of crap. I dont know why I even bother on here. I bought a Garmin and I will never buy another Fitbit product.

Why bother replying Malkin. You giving out your email and cell is by far the dumbest thing I have ever saw. As you are flaming people. I guess you just can't fix stupid.

OK. I am unsubscribing from this forum. There is no fix for any of the
issues relating to the Ionics premature failure or the grossly inaccurate
distance logging of any other if the Fitbits. Accept that ..
1. These devices are not for serious athletes or anyone wanting accurate
activity tracking.
2. Any issues, Fitbit don't care.

Do yourselves a favour and go buy a Garmin device.

Adiós Amigos 😁

I always have massively difficulty in re-charging my ionic when the battery is dead.

This is NOTHING to do with needing to cleaning contacts etc etc, this has to be a product software fault.

I only have a charging issue from dead (when i charge the battery and it has juice, i have no issues).

My watch is 18 months old & when the battery is low (and might run out) I literally don't use the watch for its intended purpose,  as its not worth the hassle to go through the various trial and error described in other posts - not what you expect from a premium(ish) product.

Whilst all the trial and error described in other posts generally get me over the line, i dont expect this hassle for something i foolishly paid over £200 for.

I've considered selling on ebay, but i'm not sure i can knowingly pass this hassle onto another person......and lets be honest, being completely open and transparent about this issue..... simply makes the product re-sale value worthless !!

I hoped i was the exception...... but it doesn't seem that way 😞

Yes! This worked for me. I had the ionic charge over night but it was still dead. With the charger connect I pressed and hold all 3 buttons until it boots (10-15 sec).

Now working again!

Try it a few times,, mine was dead for a day or two,, it took a few times
before it came back and now when I get down to 25% I recharge it,, but I
have three chargers, one at home one at work and one at office,,, but also
try to go to settings and check which lighting, fade away or turn off
screen, and such to conserve power. I referee and I notice when I use it
to time Lacrosse or football it definitely drains battery life faster,,,
just be cognizant of that usage,,,

My Dad's Ionic once again died a death and would not charge.

Pressing all buttons to try and reset did not help and keeping it connected to the charger for 24 hours did nothing.

The one thing that works is to submerge the Ionic in water and then reset it. The logo appears and I am able to charge it again. God knows how I managed to figure this out first time round, but thought I may as well give it another try and it worked.

Just keep telling him to charge it when ever possible as I'm not sure how many chances we have left with this device.

Mine died today. Surprising to me is there is no Fitbit help. Where are the answers from Fitbit? What do we do besides bury it?

Try plugging it in to the computer not an outlet

leave it on charger for the night. Reset ( be patient) . Then replace on
charger and cross fingers.

I got mine to restart but really not sure what I did to be honest.

I was able to see Fitbit logo after putting it on my wrist and press left and right bottom buttons to say goodbye.

My ionic battery ran out on run, then wouldn't charge on return. Read the blog, plugges it into cord then power.  Still blank screen, so tried restarting while plugged into power by pressing the 3 buttons to restart.  Hooray it showed the fitbit logo then restarted and began charging.  I think as my ionic ages letting it run completely flat is bad, it appears to have issues charging from completely empty .
