Welcome to the Community @daveydelt. I'll be happy to help you with your Ionic not tracking your sleep.
I would like you to try the following troubleshooting:
- Manually sync your watch
- Try sleeping with your Ionic on your non-dominant hand
Can you let me know if your Ionic isn't tracking your sleep stages or sleep in general?
Let me know how it goes.

My Ionic has only giving me basic sleep details since 18 April last. I have rebooted the watch several times. I have checked and I am on the latest firmware version and the latest App version. I wear the watch on my non-dominant hand.
I am annoyed that an expensive watch is not functioning as it should and nobody in Fitbit can identify or fix the issue.
I will not be buying another!

My Ionic has also started recording inaccurate sleep details. Right now it is not showing any sleep for the past five hours although for the majority of that time I have been asleep. I recorded an hour and a half sleep, then a phone call woke me, but after I went back to sleep it stopped recording. It has been erratic with its sleep log for several weeks now. It sometimes adds sleep from one day to the preceding day if I have a nap during the day (something I have always done) instead of the day when I nap. I'm talking about an afternoon nap being added to the result from the night before. It also on occasion will add sleep many hours later. I check on waking, get a lower sleep total than I know I should have, then in the afternoon it will suddenly add more hours. It has become completely unreliable or accurate. I have rebooted the watch and reinstalled the software on my computer to no effect. Do I need to switch to an Apple watch to rely on accurate record keeping?

A warm welcome to the Community @GGIonic. Thanks for the troubleshooting tried. Sorry for the delayed reply.
Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Ionic. Your sleep stages are tracked using your heart rate information, I would like you to confirm that you have your heart rate on, to do so: Open the Settings app and find Heart Rate. Make sure Heart Rate is On.
It's great to see you around @DarkScribe. I appreciate the time you took to share your experience with your Ionic. I would like you to try some troubleshooting with me.
Fitbit estimates your sleep stages using a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns. When you haven’t moved for about an hour, your tracker or watch assumes that you’re asleep. Additional data such as the length of time your movements are indicative of sleep behavior (such as rolling over, etc.) help confirm that you’re asleep. While you’re sleeping, your device tracks the beat-to-beat changes in your heart rate, known as heart rate variability (HRV), which fluctuate as you transition between light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep stages.
If you slept for less than 3 hours, your sleep graph won't show sleep stages but the normal sleep pattern. I would like you to confirm you've tried the troubleshooting I posted above.
If after checking this, your sleep information is still not showing properly, please provide me with a screenshot of the data that you're getting.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for confirming that your Ionic is tracking heart rate @GGIonic. Sorry for the delayed reply.
I appreciate the troubleshooting tried in order to get your watch syncing. I would like you to try this syncing troubleshooting and let me know if you get your data transferred properly to your app. Can you provide me with a screenshot of the sleep data and heart rate information you're getting?
Keep me posted!

Thanks for getting back @GGIonic. It seems weird that your Ionic isn't syncing normally to your Samsung Galaxy S9. In this case, I've shared your post with our Support team and they will continue assisting you.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

@cdcoffey A warm welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed in my reply.
I appreciate the troubleshooting tried prior to posting. I would like you to attach a picture of what you're seeing on your watch in the sleep tile.
Please confirm that you're syncing your watch in the morning and then checking your sleep tile on your Ionic.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
