I've had my Ionic for almost two weeks now. Randomly, during runs the Ionic will stop recording for no reason. I have Auto-Pause and Run Detect both turned off, as was suggested in another thread to make the GPS more accurate, so those shouldn't be a factor. This has happened three times out of five runs since I bought the watch. When it stops recording on its own, it also doesn't automatically add the workout to my stats. I had a Surge for almost three years before buying the Ionic and never had any issues like this. Is anyone else experiencing this, and if so, have you found a resolution to it yet? I'm very close to returning the Ionic at this point.

I have turned off mile cues and the GPS feature no longer shuts off mid-run/workout. However, I have not tried to turn them back on since the Iconic update came out. I just installed it last night. Has anyone tried running with cues, not interacting with the device before the first cue, with the new update? Do we know if this update fixed the problem?

@dave75 Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post that you are also experiencing the same situation with workouts stopping randomly.
Please feel free to update your Ionic to its latest OS 3.0. This is currently being progressively rolling out so if you haven't received it yet; you should in the next days. Check this post for more information.
Once you update let me know if this keeps happening.
@BostonBetsy I hope you're doing well! Thanks for updating Ionic to its latest version. Please try it out and let me know if the issue persists.
Keep me posted!

I've been experiencing this problem for many months and I've spoken to customer support twice and they seem unable to fix it. They are not willing to replace my Charge 3, and I imagine it is because the problem remains even on even the new ones. This problem seems to exist across their entire product line, as I have found the similar threads regarding the Charge 3, Versa, and Ionic product lines.

Sadly, if tracking your exercise is important to you it seems that we need to find another brand. Consumer Reports likes the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro ($200) and the Garmin Forerunner 35 ($130). They are the 2 highest rated trackers. The Charge 3 is number 3.

Customer service finally replace my fitbit after I asked to speak to a supervisor. Unfortunately, my new fitbit has the same problem. It seems to happen less frequently than my previous one - perhaps once per week instead of 3 or 4 times per week. I'll be adding a new tracker to my holiday wish list soon. Too bad because I really enjoyed their products up until now.

No this does not fix the problem - which was not happening that much, usually not a problem in a gym - seems to only affect me outdoors on a circuit with other walkers on an oval - likely is an interface issue with blue tooth from iphones on other walkers is my guess - but like many its annoying as it takes time to realise its happened.
