Ionic step counter won't stop ticking

Since last night, my ionic started thinking that I've been running non-stop.  I've tried restarting multiple times (10+ now) and I've tried shut down and syncing too.  Should I try a factory reset?  I don't really want to lose my music because it takes forever upload... but do I have a choice?  Anyone else have this issue before?

I would say you have little option left but to do a factory reset. It sounds like you have tried all other troubleshooting steps.

Perhaps you can try changing the watch face, it's a long shot but worth trying before the factory reset. Also try turning it off completely in settings - about - shutdown.

Hi, I have this problem just started today too. Tried shutting down, hard factory reset...still ticking away at 11,000 steps before noon...

Is there any solution or is my Ionic now useless?

My Ionic is 18 months old and started the same thing.  Running up to 130,000 steps per day.  I factory reset it multiple times, updated it, and restarted it countless times.  Nothing worked.  Unfortunately I bought my Ionic from EBay so that automatically nullified the warranty.  Unsure if Fitbit would have honored the warranty if I had bought it from an authorized retailer.  It is basically a watch now that doesn’t do anything else.  My daughters Ionic screen kept going black and that kept happening to the point hers had to be replaced.  Luckily hers was 6 months old and I bought it from Amazon.  Lots of glitches for such an expensive watch.     Contact customer service and good luck.
