Ionic stopped working after firmware update

Hi guys,

Need some help here if someone could, please?

I just updated my Ionic firmware to the latest version and once complete the ionic started bootlooping. It goes to splash, turns off, goes to splash over and over.

I've tried:

1. Hard restarting it with back + down

2. Factory reset with back + both sides and release right-bottom till vibrate

But nothing works.

I've emailed support but not had a response yet, I understand the ionic only has a 1 year warranty but my device is immaculate, I am to lose £200 due solely to a bad firmware release? That doesn't seem fair.

Can anybody provide me some advice please?

Regards,

Matt

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your watch. Since you mentioned you have a case with our Support team, they provide you with some troubleshooting before they proceed with any other option.

Rest assure that each case is reviewed individually and the option provided is based in the Fitbit Warranty

Hi Silvia,

Thanks for reaching out, luckily I fall under the UK's 2 year warranty and as such am getting a replacement. However I am genuinely concerned that a firmware update could brick an otherwise functional device, had I been out of warranty I'd have been out of pocket by £200 for no good reason.

I've had Fitbits since the very first device, having had the Flex, Charge (several), Blaze and now the Ionic, and I'm really rather concerned about Fitbit devices now. My first Ionic just flat out died, now this one collapsed after a simple update, hopefully, hird time is a charm, but I'm not confident...
