Mine bricked itself this morning - worked great until today.  Out of warranty - out of luck.

** Update** Called back a second time - replacement was offered.  REALLY hope they get the bugs fixed because I really like the device and had virtually zero problems before today.

Sorry to hear that man,  I had two ionics die within 14 months so I know the feeling. May I ask how long your ionic lasted?  I'm using a charge 3 now and I really like it and I'm hoping I have better luck with it.  It's less expensive as well so if I do get two years out of it I would say that would be worth the money for sure.

I understand if it's any consolation I did the same thing and jumped through hoops to get a resolution that satisfied me,  but at the end of the day I had to move on from my frustration...   I actually feel for Fitbit here as well because I'm quite sure they didn't expect so many issues with the IONIC..   I had to have faith they're going to come out at some point with a better solution for their loyal fans to get them back in the fold.  I know they're a business, but you know they want people to be happy but there is only so much they can do to stay afloat and sometimes you have to make hard decisions.

Mine lasted 14 months and a week. I had a Charge HR that lasted two years.  It still worked but literally fell apart one day.  That's when I moved on to the Ionic.

I'm loving the charge 3 as long as it holds up..   I just think at this point it's really a smart choice to not invest too much in fitness trackers while they work through bugs...   I got the IONIC in the first place for one main reason and that was the ability to load my spotify playlist into the watch.  Of course we all know they never gave us this option although I would of sworn when I bought mine it would be coming.  So,  honestly it was easy for me to walk away from the high end watch at the end of the day.. Also,  I really didn't need GPS even though I used it occasionally...   I'm considering down the line moving away from fitbit depending on how they handle things with warranties moving forward but I hope thats not the case..  One thing I can say for Garmin is my wife's vivoactive has lasted for over three years and still going strong and she is a camp gladiator instructor so she puts it through the paces..

I think fibit's apps are great and I have all my food logged in as well so I would hate to switch..   Here is to hoping for growth and positives vibes for fitbit.

The same thing has happened to me this morning and from reading this forum the prognosis is not looking good. Gutted as I love my Fitbit and outside my warranty by a few weeks!

I contacted customer service and was issued a new ionic.

This time, because the replacement is within 30 days of arrival (only lasted 25 days), Fitbit is sending me a new one. I had 2 options: 50% for a new tracker or a free replacement: this time I do not have to ship back the defect tracker and they will probably send me a full package instead of just the watch itself.

I have to say this time the process is way better that the hell I went through in February. Hey, maybe they have learned their lesson.

For those who have had resolution of your defective watch, how many times did you have to call customer service and how old was your original watch?  I was told that since it was 2 months out of warranty, I couldn't get a replacement, but that was in February. How did you go about getting them to honor their workmanship?Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

My gut is telling me this is related to Pandora.  I'm curious, for units that crashed recently, do you have Pandora on your watch?  Needless to say, when my new one gets here, I will purposely leave Pandora off.  Thoughts?

Best Answer
Didn't have that on mine when it failed.

Guys,

after holding all three bottons for one minute....it turned on and functioning again already. Still very unusual experience for such a strong brand but I hope will be addressed soon once and for all. 🤔

I've never used Pandora.

Never used Pandora. I have heard it may be related to the waterproof seal that gives up the ghost and hence the sudden loss of power. Having read all the threads when mine stopped and all the issues owners had with trying to get it replaced and the offers from Fitbit ie 20% off or 50%% off for a watch that was in most cases just out of warranty was simply not good enough for me. I took mine back to my retailer asked for a full refund which they gave me and purchased a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Sports and absolutely love it. Fitbit, with all the feedback and issues outlined on this thread about their Ionic should have handled this much better for their customers of which I am no more.
Trust everyone else had a fair and just resolve that suits them.

Regards
Larry
