New Agenda App - Permissions required?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So the new OS comes with an Agenda app. Unfortunately, when I open it, it just gives me a message saying that permissions are required.

I've read  the Help page on the Agenda app, but when I open up the settings of the app in the Fitbit Mobile app, all I see is a setting for showing free time.

There are no settings to choose which calendars to show on my watch or the colour for events linked to each calendar.

I use Outlook on my Android phone, and want to use the Outlook Calendar with my Ionic. How do I do this?

@gcoupe It's nice to see you around. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

It's pretty weird that you're not seeing the option to turn on the requirements for the Agenda app. In order to see all the calendars available you will need to have them linked to your default calendar app. In this case, I would like you to confirm that Outlook is linked to the default calendar app.

Once Outlook and your default calendar are linked, please log out from your app and log back in. After this, follow this procedure:

  1. In the Fitbit app on your phone, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture > your device image > Apps.
  2. Tap the gear icon

next to Agenda. You may need to swipe up to find the app. You’ll see all calendars linked to the default calendar app on your phone.
  3. Adjust the settings to choose which calendars to show on your watch, the color for events linked to each calendar, and whether you want to see blocks of free time.
  4. Sync your watch to see today’s and tomorrow’s events from your calendars in the Agenda app

    .

If you're still experiencing the same, please attach an image to your next reply.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for your reply @SilviaFitbit . You write:

"In order to see all the calendars available you will need to have them linked to your default calendar app. In this case, I would like you to confirm that Outlook is linked to the default calendar app."

I assume by this that you mean that Outlook has permissions to use the Calendar services in Android. That I have done, for both Outlook and Fitbit (the latter was not first enabled, I have now done so). However, even after logging out from the Fitbit app and logging back in again, the Agenda app settings screen still does not show any calendars available.

@gcoupe Thanks for getting back. I appreciate the screenshot shared.

As you mentioned, I was referring that your Calendar services in Android had access to your Outlook account. Based in the screenshot you shared, when you're in the Agenda app, you have two options: settings and permission, you need to turn on permissions and then you can go to the Agenda's settings this way you could personalize the settings. Could you attach a screenshot of what you're seeing in permissions?

Keep me posted.

Right, that was it - the permissions needed to be set, and this is a separate operation from using the Settings page.

I think the help page could be made clearer by re-ordering the operations. First, explain how to set the permissions, and then second, describe how to choose the calendars in the Settings page.

The way it is structured now (first choose your calendars) was what confused me. I didn't realise that the app had its own Permissions settings, separate from the Fitbit app itself.

Hey - how did you fix this? I’m having the same exact issues on my mother’s phone.

Use the Fitbit app and go to the list of apps installed on your device. Open the agenda app - that will display both the Settings and the Permissions buttons. You need to use the Permissions button to set them correctly.
