After 2 days, and many hours of lost sleep they finally released a fixed for the firmware update for my new ionic. Good luck to everybody and hope you get yours up and running as well!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for taking the time to report the issues you were experiencing when attempting to update your new Ionics. I have heard from our engineering team and they have confirmed that they have identified what was causing these firmware updates to fail and have since implemented a fix.
I see a few of you have been able to successfully update since the fix was rolled out. However, if you still have not updated to Fitbit OS 4.1, I recommend giving it another try by following the steps I have detailed in this post.
Of course, if you are still experiencing issues updating your Ionic, feel free to let me know but it should work moving forward. Thanks again for your patience as our team worked to sort this issue out.

This is great....
But it hasn’t hit my Ionic yet....
Must be a phased release....
Strange Fitbit haven’t mentioned it officially yet...????..

Since they never admitted a problem, why would they cop to releasing a fix? Just let customers think we finally stopped screwing up on our updates. All their great advice and how to’s finally worked.

I don’t think it’s meant to be a multi button long press to turn it back on.
Customer services asked me to check if I could turn mine on with a short press of the left hand button.
Also while mine was turned off it lost 33% of its charge, while it was turned off for 8 hours, and that isn’t right.

Just to clarify...we should try the update again if Fitbit did not work after updates prior to 12/14/19. I’m curious, what issue(s) were fixed? It seems like people are having a variety of issues with the update.

My Fitbit stopped reading my heart rate. After failed attempts to fix it, I did a factory reset. Now it says it has to update in order to work. It has been updating non-stop for the last 2 days. I don't know how to get it to complete and allow me to use it again. Frustrating!
