TL;DR.
Issue: call notifications never arrive to the Ionic, all other notifications do
Ionic: running firmware 27.32.12.19
Fitbit app: version 2.83
Phone: OnePlus 3T running OxygenOS 5.0.6 (Android 8.0.0)
Hi everyone.
I'm suddenly not getting call notifications on my Ionic at all, all other notifications arrive fine (WhatsApp, Telegram, random apps, etc) just calls specifically won't. In fact, I realized this because I do get a missed call notification on the watch right after the call goes to voice mail or the caller hangs up.
Just this week I did two things: I factory reset my Ionic to force-update the firmware to 27.32.12.19 and I updated the Fitbit app to version 2.83, so I don't know which triggered this.
The only similar issue I found dates from September and I already tried the suggestions within that thread with no positive results. Also, a test call notification from the Fitbit app never arrives either.
Has anyone experienced this issue or is this a know issue either with my firmware or app version? Any workarounds/fixes?

Have you checked the settings in the Fitbit app.
Does calls how on your phones lock screen?
Have you checked the notification permissions for the Fitbit App?
This would be my first thought if phone calls show on the lock screen of the phone. If they do not show up on the phone, then that is your problem

I have check that and more: fitbit notifications are on for calls, fitbit has access to notifications, calls show on my lock screen, I disabled and re-enabled notifications on the app's settings and the watch's settings, pair/unpaired the watch, etc, etc.
In fact, it's only call notifications, all other notifications show up on the Ionic (e.g. a text message), which means notifications do work.

No, a test call notification never arrives either.

Meaning that doing this does not work either: Fitbit app -> Ionic -> Notifications -> three-dot menu -> Send a Test Call Notification

Yes, this sends a test call notification
Under the phones settings - apps - permission - is phone and contacts enabled?
As long as you ringer volume is up and calls show up on the lock screen I'm not sure what is happening

Make sure your phone is not on mute or silent and do not disturb is not on. Otherwise calls will not go through If you like t hae your phone on silent put it in vibrate mode and go in t the settings to turn the vibrate off.

@Rich_Laue Yes, I did check those permissions too. I'm quite baffled honestly, as this morning I suddenly got call notifications again, I didn't do anything special, I just didn't get them for a couple of days and now they arrive just fine, including the test call notification. I'm not really sure what happened.
@Spookly I always have my phone on do not disturb mode, however I have selected "always vibrate" on the fitbit app settings. This is the use case that I most like: the phone never sounds or vibrates, I get discrete notifications on the watch. This has worked previously for all notifications until this week when I suddenly stopped receiving call notifications for a few days. They seem to be working now though.
