A warm welcome to the Community @Ochikawa! I would like you to try the following troubleshooting:
- Manually sync your tracker
- Try sleeping with your Ionic on your non-dominant hand
- If after trying this, it's still not showing, please manually log sleep to reflect the time slept
If you're still not able to get sleep data, provide me with more details about it. Have your Ionic tracked sleep before? Has it showed you sleep stages?
Keep me posted.

I have the most recent update and the last 4 nights, my Ionic is no longet showing Sleep Stages again. I’ve already checked the troubleshooting tips, restarted the Ionic, logged out and logged back i to the app, do not use the Sleep Now option and wear my Ionic the same as I have since day 1.

Does the Fitbit app give you any insight as to why it was unable to calculate the sleep stages?

Hi,
a lot of Fitbit tracker are having this problem, since Fitbit has changed the algorithm. 😞
On the dashboard and app you can't see differences on the heart rate when you have sleep stages and when they are missing! Very frustrating!
You can check your Ionic with clock face "Heart beats" or the app "HR Graph" and you can always see you have data. No gap!
Only when you not wearing the Ionic and charge it. 😉
Problem is on Fitibt side and hopefully they are going to fix the problem!
A lot of customer here in the communities are waiting since month for a bugfix!
Fitbit support is not able to give information where and when and which data are missing.
It looks like the algorithm which includes the HRV and moving data for the sleep stages uses a very small range and not all data which are coming from the Ionic, Charge 2, Alta, etc.
Quiet simple to show that:
You see data range from 39 to 49. (10 data)
When the algorythm, for example, is using only 42 to 49 there 5 missing data (39, 41, 40, 40,....,40)
So, ony 50% of data available and that makes the problems for a lot of user, which you can find in the different communities for each tracker..... 😞
The next problem with Fitbit is, in there artice they mentioned that we have no sleep stages because of "not consistent heart rate" is wrong!
Nobody has consistent heart rate!!!
That's why they are using HRV, but which range?
Support didn't know that! That's a fact, because they are not able to answer that question!
You don't see the range on the dashboard.
On dashboard or in the app you see only missing data when you are not wearing the tracker because of charging.
Also no alert when no data are available!
No information about the signal strength.
I would say when we can see on HR Graph everytime the heart rate, also doesn't matter which sleep possition you have, because alsways contact of Ionic with the skin, you have data.
Next discrepancy in the article from Fitbit. I couldn't find a sleep possition where the Ionic didn't have data. Fitbit support is also not able to show which possition that are!
@Mods: Maybe you can correct me with detailed information, in case if I'm wrong!
Restarts, factory resets, reset of the heart rate sensor is not able to help, because that didn't correct the algorithm for the sleep stages!
So, if you like, ask the support for detailed information which data and when they are missing.
Which you the best and hope Fitbit is going to correct all their problems!
Regards,
Mark

It says it couldnt get a consistent heart rate. I wear my fitbit exactly the same every time. It was consistently working for a good while until the past week.

Same with me. I bought the Ionic 3 weeks ago, and have never got the sleep stages. I’ve tried all suggested solutions, but none work for me. A shame, as otherwise it’s a good device.

Hey everyone! I appreciate the details that you've shared about the sleep information you're getting.
I've noticed that most of you haven't got sleep stages. I would like you to try the following:
- Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand
- If the previous steps don't work, manually log your sleep to reflect the time slept
Hope this helps!

I have the exact same problem. I bought my watch at the end of last year. The sleepstages has been working perfectly up until May. From day to day it stop showing the sleepstages. I have changed nothing. I have tried all the things that's been suggested, and still it is not working. On the odd occasion it will show the sleepstages but it's very rare. I have contacted the support team numerous times. I am very frustrated about the situation. I am in general very happy with the Ionic, but I would like the sleepstages to work. It is a part of the package and therefore something I expect will work.
Could it have something to do with the heart rate monitor. mine has started to sometimes not read correctly. Sometimes I can see it when I'm just wearing the watch that the heart rate monitor isn't tracking my heart rate and twice I have tried it during a workout.
I would really appreciate if you could help me. I really want this to work. This is one of the reasons I bought the Ionic. I don't want to manually log my sleep. That is not what I have paid for.
Thanks for you help in advance.
Lea

Hi Silvia,
I have tried your method
- I did manually sync my ionic still nothing
- restart my ionic and still nothing
- Try sleeping with your Ionic on your non-dominant hand (I have been doing that)
- If after trying this, it's still not showing, please manually log sleep to reflect the time slept (isn't it troublesome ? Why isn't it auto function ?)
We paid SGD$300+ for the function and it still doesn't function properly ?
And as I mention previously in my post that when the battery life drop beyond 70%, it doesn't sync and automatically show your sleep insight data. Something is really wrong here

No, didn't help!
Just to correct the algorithm can help!
After an update in March no sleep stages!
So your suggestions not helpful!
Sleep over 3 hour!
Enough water!
Why do all Fitbit products ( Charge 2, Alta, Ionic, Versa) have problems with missing sleep stages and Fitbit is not able to correct the algorithm?
Crazy and frustrating!

Switch to sensitive will give very bad data.
Maybe you can post a screenshot.
Thanks.

I have owned my Ionic for well over a year. Up until three weeks ago or thereabouts, it recorded sleep stages without any problems. Since then, it has only worked for one night in that time. I have since, manually synced, switched off, switched on, done hard resets, checked software releases, adjusted sensitivity, and NOTHING has got my Ionic to get back to recording the sleep stages.
Dear FITBIT, your product has failed.
