Hi, i was looking at the pace graph of my interval workout and i cant seem to understand what the 35’ 57” refers to. I was doing a pace of around 6 mins at the time it is referring to. Same issue with my previous run graphs as well.

Fitbit.jpgHello, I am really sorry about that. I thought i had attached the file in my first post. Anyway here it goes. What does the 37' 27" refer to. I was doing 6-7 min pace at that time.

Thank you for getting back to us with that image @Avinash.KCat Happy

Those numbers are the detailed information about the pace. Pace is expressed as minutes and seconds to go a mile. Once, the whole data has been calculated it will show you an average of the whole activity, that's the 8'03 that you're seeing.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.Have a nice weekend!

Hello Grace, thanks for the reply. I get that bit of the 8’03. But it doenst explain the 37’ 27” mark in the image i have attached. Does it mean at that particular moment i was doing a pace of 37 minutes a mile, because then it is both absurd and wrong. Because at that time i was doing around 5-6 minute pace.

@Avinash.K if you are sure you were moving then it is possible you lost GPS connection. Then some rubbish data pops in. You can figure that out by analyzing TCX data from your activity.

GPS was continously on. I was moving at a constant pace. It is the same issue with my other runs as well. The .tcx file exported in strava shows the correct min/km pace. This weird number here at fitbit i am just not able to figure it out.

Thank you very much for your response and for sharing your comments @Avinash.K and @SunsetRunner.

It looks like your major concern is about the accuracy of your Ionic. When it comes to pace, this is determined by the step rate in combination with GPS, this means that even when you are running or walking in the same place not always you will get the same pace. We need to take in count that it will also depends on where you're running or walking.

I recommend you to restart your watch following this instructions:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Try again to do the activity to check if you have different results. A few seconds of difference in the pace for each step is acceptable, but if you wish I can open a case for you and our team will be happy to help you out with this.

@GraceGFitbit "When it comes to pace, this is determined by the step rate (...)"

That sounds absolutely incorrect. The pace is time per km( or mile ). If GPS sampling happens every second ( when it doesn't fail to connect ) so you don't need any imaginary data to compute pace. Pace without GPS doesn't make any sense as you need real-world distance for it to be any use. What step rate ( whatever it is ) has anything to do with that?
