Resetting Fitbit Ionic

Folks, when all else fails, try resetting your Ionic.  Here is how: Press and hold the left and bottom right buttons together, until the Fitbit icon appears, then release.

The reset has always worked for me when things get hookie and hopefully will for you as well!

If you cant get to the settings screen on your watch to do a factory reset try holding all 3 buttons for 15 seconds than let go of the single left button first than than the other two buttons this may let you reset up your Ionic. You'll need to remove your Ionic from the app than set it up again as a new device if the reset works.

It doesnt work at all. It started to make a open-close loop.

Fitbit released Firmware version #27.32.4.19.  So, for resetting your Ionic, you "Most likely" will now need to move off  of the clock screen to do the reset!  This may not apply to all Clock Screens, but I have tried 10 and ALL 10 Clock Screens were not able to perform the reset!

Reset Procedure:  Slide to the "Right" (moving to any screen other than the Clock Screen) and reset (holding down the left Button and the bottom right Button together, until the Fitbit logo appears and release).

Hope this helped and keep on stepping!

Failed!!!  I travel extensively and my Ionic normally will set the watch to the same time as the phone.  Now it's stuck on Eastern time and I'm in the Pacific time zone.  I've tried removing the Ionic and re-adding it and I've also tried your suggesting to hold the left and right buttons to reset.  No luck.  This latest update is the worst.  Probably the worst $300 I've ever spent on anything.

Hope this helps:  Go to your Fitbit App (I use iOS) and follow these steps:

1.  Account Icon (Top Right Corner)

2.  Advanced Settings (At the bottom of the menu options)

3.  Time zone:  You can set this to automatically update, but if you are having problems, turn this option off and manually select your location

Good Luck and Keep on stepping!

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know about you, but I'm paying for
technology that is supposed to work and I shouldn't have to set the time
manually because the feature doesn't work. I work in software and
Fitbit's blunders are disappointing.

As you know, this is brand new tech for Fitbit and Apple had very similar issues when they rolled out the first Apple Watch.  But, I do get what your saying!  I'm hoping your problem is resolved (partially), if so, give it a couple of days and try to reset the App to automatically sync your time zones again and see if it works.

Keep on stepping!

Resetting Update:

Fitbit released Firmware version #27.32.4.19.  So, for resetting your Ionic, you "Most likely" will now need to move off of the clock screen to do the reset!  This may not apply to all Clock Screens, but I have tried over 25+ and all 25+ Clock Screens were not able to perform the reset!

Reset Procedure:  Slide to the "right" (moving to any screen other than the Clock face Screen) and reset (holding down the left Button and the bottom right Button together, until the Fitbit logo appears and release).

This will "usually", fix all ill's, so I Hope this helped and keep on stepping!

Gunny, what you keep calling a "Reset" is a restart.  The Factory Reset is a different animal . I realize this is semantics but it can be confusing to others.

Same and 9 months later. After If got to the point of the clock lockup it refuses to sync with my phone.  And won't pair again. I was finally able to sync to my PC - methinks this will go back if it's latest update doesn't fix anything.
