I have an Ionic and after the update everything was working fine. I use Message + for my text messages. I get my email and calendar notifications on the watch just fine, but the text messages are not coming through. I've restarted both watch and phone, made sure my notifications are turned on, even unpaired the watch to my phone, I've done everything I have about under troubleshooting....I'm at a loss, I use this feature alot and I don't know what else to try. Anyone have any ideas?
I completed the update on Saturday and have not had working notifications since then. I use Message+ from Verizon also, with my Galaxy S6. I've never had a problem until this latest update. I did every type of troubleshooting from the Fitbit page to no success. I don't get how an update to make the Ionic better breaks a function that worked just fine.
Best AnswerSame thing here, since the update. I am getting no help, so they obviously dont know why this is happening.
Best AnswerYes, I too was on the phone today, with no resolution. They have sent it on to the higher tech people, so I guess I'm supposed to receive an email, so I'll let everyone know what they say, if I get one. Really bummed, it was working so well before 😞

Best AnswerI am having the same issues , my text messages + on Verizon Samsung galaxy. I cannot receive text! That's the main reason I love my watch so much is because of this feature. 😞 I chatted with reps today with no solution to be fixed yet . All this happened after the update. My calls and calender events come through. Just not the text messages. Anyone have new word on this?
Best AnswerNo, I contacted them again, and they have no idea if and when it will be fixed. It seems to be a problem mainly with Message +. I have been using the default message app on my Galaxy S7 Edge, and the texts are coming through. I really hope they can fix the Message +, it used to work just fine before the update, and I prefer to use that app for a number of different reasons for my text messages.

Best AnswerI did not activated the text message on the notifications for texts. Instead I activated the Message+ in the app section and it started working today. Give this a try.
Best AnswerSo you didn't activate it thru the fitbit app, only on the regular app? Sorry, got confused 😕

Best AnswerMy bad, I did it on the app notifications section instead of the text messages section. It seems to work for me.
Best AnswerOMGEEEE it worked!! Thank you soooo much!! I have missed my Message + soooo much!!! Thanks again 😄
Best AnswerWhen I first got my Ionic, the text messages/notifications were working fine. Then the haptic notification stopped working. Now the text messages are irregular. I've tried pairing/unpairing Bluetooth, Reviewing notifications -- both in "Notifications" and in "Apps" (can't check as it is disabled but acknowledged as "Default messaging app."), rebooting phone.
I use the default "Messages" app for my Samsung Note 5. (Originally, I had Messages+ when I got my Ionic but I couldn't get notifications and switching to Messages fixed it.)
I miss this feature.

Hey there @CoolHappyGuy, thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience with your notifications. Nice way to go!
Have you tried restarting your Ionic and following @charlem's advise?
Since your Ionic can receive app notifications make sure you can receive app notifications on your phone. For example, you can receive Facebook notifications on your Fitbit device, but only if you also receive them on your phone. Find the notifications permissions under Settings > Notifications.
1. In the phone itself select "Settings", "Notifications", "Mail/Facebook/iMessages" then ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled.
2. In Mail/Facebook/iMessages select "Settings" and ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled.
As Ionic can receive notifications from other apps on your phone, tap App Notifications and make your choices. If an installed app is missing from the list, sync your device and then check again.
If the notifications are still not coming through, please check the article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.
Hope this helps, keep me updated! ![]()
