Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

I followed instructions in my refund email and logged into the store using the discount code. Things looks good and I added a fitbit and an accessory band Ok. I added a second fitbit but couldn't add a second accessory band. I checked my email to confirm what I had read, it said "up to 5 accessory bands - 1 for each device". I returned to the website and selected the "Ionic upgrade store" to see it stated the I could order up to five products and one accessory. Although not impressed with the difference between email and website I decided I would to ahead and place an order. The website then asked for my code again which I entered but this time I am unable to see any options to purchase anything - I want to place an order but am stuck.
Is this the best way to contact Fitbit support for advice?

@angkianglong Hi Ang, did you go to Fitbit Ionic Discount Store and choose Malaysia as your location? If yes, is there a box for your to enter "Access Code"? Otherwise, choose locations such as US or Thailand at Fitbit Ionic Discount Store and you will notice if there is any difference.

Received the same email this morning. Have not clicked the link yet. Hoping more information comes from Fitbit to verify this.

I’ve been trying to do this today but after I set up the login details they wouldn’t work. Then clicking the rest link did nothing. At a bit of a loss for now! Tried calling the customer services and Fitbit, no help.

I also received a mail from fitbitionicrecall@myglobaloptions.com yesterday evening, in 6 languages.
As previous mails were from sedgwick.com and @sedgwickbp.com, with a reference number different from the redemption code in yesterday's mail, it raises as bit of suspicion...
Trustscam.com has some reservations about fully trusting it, but reports it as mostly OK. According to the whois info a UK based company owns the domain name since 2008, so it's not something that sprung out of the ground just now.
Taking it all into account, I suppose Fitbit asked this company to handle the refunds in the European region. For other regions it's then probably another company. The mail could give a bit more trust if that previous reference number was included.
I'm sitting this one out a little... Maybe someone of the moderators can confirm?

Might be worth trying "forgotten details" on the login page

I’ve tried. It asks for your code, put it in and it says an email has been sent if you have a registered email. No email in my registered email inbox or junk.

I clicked on the link and it doesn’t ask for any details other than your date of birth and email (which it has already). You then create an account, and actually it is genuine and I had a virtual Mastercard with about £220 on it. Used it to order a new pair of trainers and sale went through and trainers dispatched. So it is genuine!

you volunteered to have no fit for up to 3-6 weeks if you couldn't afford a replacement when you sent the recall ....I also don't know why people think there getting the refund because they returned there's ......mines been inactive since 6th ...and UK don't have to return it so if that was the case what the hell is the UK refunds waiting on?....I personally think noone was getting it before the 3 week marker .and it's as simple as that ....they moaned that there was 1.7 million people that bought one wich is why there busy ..but less than half a million are being returned so they should have been way faster ....

I have been trying to access the refund page since the recall but to no avail - I get sent to a page with the Fitbit logo with "Account Verification" - unfortunately I cannot enter any details on this page as it never fully loads. What am I doing wrong? Does my Ionic have to be on for Fitbit to allow me to verify my account?

I received my e-mail today to get my virtual Master Card. It took me over and hour on the My Prepaid Center website before I was able to activate the card. I can't imagine how many people must be having problems. Every step of the way I got error messages. I set up an account. Tried to login and message was incorrect e-mail or password. They sent one time password and I copy and paste # and it says it wrong. I did this 3 times and each time it says wrong number. On and on every step they gave me grief. I honestly don't know how I finally got in and got a card. Just want to say good luck to everyone.
