Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

@Troubleuk I did mine on the 8th as well and no refund yet.. from looking through the thread most people are getting them between day 27-29.. so hopefully in the next couple of days! (Fingers crossed) and I choose PayPal and I'm in New Zealand

I have received the same email. Looks so darn dodgy that there is no way that I am clicking on anything in that email.
Please, will someone from Fitbit, just respond and confirm if this email is valid. I need this money and have been waiting for four weeks now.

Hi @Djain11 if your Ionic was disabled, there is no way for it to be used again. Did you read the FAQs about the recall?

Mine 2 as too. I have only just received my ecard from fitbit. But there's no name on the ecard. So how can you spend if as it normally asks for a name?

Hiya, new to all this but have to say in the UK its frustratingly slow, we don't always want to be referred to a website that just keeps going round in circles. Customer is an important factor in how(and if) Fitbit keep on getting repeat business. History is littered with organisations who became complacent towards its customer base...just saying

I was only given one code, it worked for all the items in my cart so I am unsure about the 3 codes. I will say, take your time and order everything you want. I have been trying for a month now to get the versa I accidentally ordered exchanged for a sense which is what I was hoping to get. I keep being told customer service will get back to me, so far all I have gotten is silence

Can you confirm how you received your Virtual card. Did you receive 1 email or 2?
I received email on Thursday morning and used the link which said will be available within 24 hours. So far nothing. Fitbit support via Twitter said a 2nd email wld be received but so far nothing

Same happened to me, not impressed. The message says 'code already redeemed or expired'. Why would Fitbit expect us to purchase a new Fitbit without receiving the refund on the recalled ionic? I thought I had time to use the code as the upgrade page says the code is valid for 90 days. Now my watch is disconnected for 3 weeks and no discount to upgrade. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I tried live chat with Fitbit support but they said they didn't have access to review my account so would have to refer to a higher support tier. Hopefully they will reactivate my discount code

Thought I would post some info to help people out as I kept checking this forum for answers.
i am from the UK & applied for my refund on 4/3/22, received a email confirmation on 6/3/22 to say my refund had been accepted & would take 3-6 weeks. ( I requested master card)
I heard nothing from else from Fitbit till this morning 1/4/22, I received an email from Fitbitionicrecal with a link to a virtual master card.
you have to follow the link & set up a user name & password, this will take you to b4b payments site with your virtual credit card.
you can not top this card up & if you do not spend the balance there is some fees which apply after a length of time & you can only use it online not in person.
I decided to try Garmin for my next watch & found one on Amazon for more than the refund credit & Amazon won’t let you split the payment over 2 cards.
I added the b4b card to my Amazon wallet & bought a Amazon voucher for the refund amount, then purchased my watch with the voucher & remaining balance on my card.

I’ve accessed the Ionic discount store as part of the recall.
I should be eligible for a years free premium membership, but I can’t see how to add it to my basket, I can’t see premium on there at all. Am I missing something?

If you scroll down past Products and Accessories, you should see Services which features Fitbit Premium at regular price but if you click you’ll see rebate applied (at least I did).
