Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

They received my returned fitbit on June 1st. Still waiting for rebate. Have called numerous times...been promised they would escalate my refund. Still waiting. I'm doubtful we'll ever see this refund. Completely disgusted!!

Alan1973, I'm afraid the answer, as I believe we all know at this point, is never!

I eventually received my refund email after about 14 weeks. I’ve tried registering the payment card but it tells me a sms can’t be sent (probably because they don’t have my mobile number!). I’ve called b4b and they say someone needs to call me back to sort this. Still no call after nearly 2 weeks!
How did you get on registering your refund card?

Although I got my refund as several gift cards only a few of them are working, the last two days, I tried to call to several places as recommended, after requiring my information and they let me wait for awhile, after that they said it’s not the place handling the refund process, so they gave me another phone number to ring, it had been like this for 3 times, instead of saying from the beginning of calling that it’s not the right place to talk and should forward to another number from the beginning, but it’s not like that, talk to you, get your information and said it’s not the right place even though I called to the number recommended. Fitbit is so funny with the refund process. The only thing I can think about is, they might really don’t have money to refund or they don’t really have intention to refund at all.

I'm experiencing the same thing. My issue has been escalated. We sent in 3 Fitbit Ionics. Two refunds and discount codes worked. The discount code for my Fitbit Ionic did not work. Very frustrating.

I did get an email with a redemption code for the virtual Mastercard. After that I created an account and everything went fine.

I finally got my email for the one they received in March, that my refund is processing and will take 10 business days. That was on 08/02, I just called the Ionic Fitbit line for USA and the lady told me it can take 3-6 weeks. Excuse me? Why not say that on the email then! Not say 10 business days, when it’s not true.
