Totally fed up of inconsistent sleep stage data..mainly all now basic info every night, contacted fitbit followed their alleged fix,no joy there, followed every known restart, reset, tight band ,sleep sensitivity settings etc etc, literally every thing tried to no avail, every single other function working good..no explanation from fitbit if this is a background software/firmware problem on their end & if they are working to fix the issue as it seems to be a wide problem now...anyone got any info on if they are fixing the problem?

thanks

I noticed that with my first night. Trump showed zero deep sleeping

I chatted with  Fitbit support and they had me do a factory reset which worked at least the first night. I will update if it starts to fail again.

Let us know if that worked, mine started the basic sleep only behavior one week ago and I have tried everything else that they suggested.

So far so good! Only been 2 days, but I have gotta the sleep stage for 2 nights now and didn't have to wear the thing super tight. Heat rate seems to be a little more responsive, but I will try a run tomorrow morning to see if that is true.

Now trying to figure out the music thing.

My fitbit seems to be working better now I get regular sleep stages. If I
don't get it a particular day I just remove my watch and wipe the sensor to
make sure it's clean and it starts working again. Additionally I changes
the sensitivity from normal to sensitive in the setting.

I’ve already change the sensitivity but I’ll wipe the sensor tonight and see how that works.
Thanks

I just got my ionic, it was an xmas gift so I’m relatively new to the ionic but not to fit bit. First 2 days the detailed sleep stages worked quite well and I was impressed but after that it’s basic sleep data. I got the same data from my charge HR. Like all things new there’s probably plenty of bugs to work out whether it’s the app or the firmware in the watch, maybe even both? On a positive note, the ionic syncs and runs pretty fluid on my iPhone 7 when after the latest iOS update the charge HR was having Bluetooth connectivity problems constantly.

Hi there. The issues with the detailed sleep has nothing to do with the watch itself. Exchanging it for a new one would not make any difference. It has to do with the functionality of the app itself. The detailed info comes from the heart rate monitor on the fitbit. If the monitor skips a reading while you are sleeping, then you will not received detailed sleep info when you wake. The best thing to do is to ensure that the band is tight enough to receive the heart rate info all through the night.

I have been having inconsistent sleep tracking with the ionic for about a week now. After various resets and reboots nothing has seemed to provide detailed sleep tracking. The only time I received a consistent reading was when I had left the band so tight overnight that I awoke with imprints on my wrist from the band. Only then did I get detailed sleep readings. Fitbit support though advised it didn't need to be this tight and should actually be loose enough you could put a finger between the wrist and device. Wearing it that loose tracked my sleep but it should have tracked 8 hrs and only tracked about 4 due to all the inconsistent heart rate readings.

My stages have been inconsistent but for the last 5 days it has been working. The support team advised me to change my sleep sensitivity back to normal (weeks ago they told sensitive). Since then it has been working. Hopefully it will continue.

We have a Charge2.  When I wore it, it worked fine.  My husband has now used it for over a month, and has never been able to get anything but basic sleep info.  Like you, we've tried everything recommended in Help pages.  Anyone else having this problem?  Looking across the community notes, it seems to be happening on a number of different models....

Since the last update last week, the sleep stages have been working better but not perfect.

Have you tried calling their help desk. I did that and they gave me various tips.

My detailed sleep info has worked almost every night since I got the Ionic in early November.  In the last week, it has suddenly quit working.  This has been since the new update.  I've cleaned the sensor, and done all the things suggested in this thread.  Help!

Hi. After I did the update it had been working fine. The best thing to do is before you go to sleep, make sure that your heart rate is showing up on your phone. Then you shouldn't have a problem getting the detailed sleep info when you wake up.
