I have decided since it is 90 days til Christmas the best gift I can give myself is better health. In the past 9 months I have slowly lost 40lbs give or take usually stays a between 35-40lbs. I would like to lose another 20lbs + by Christmas. This would put me at almost the halfway point for my weight loss. I was doing paleo for a while but found myself bingeing on cheat meals and eating way to many things that I shouldn't. So now I have decided no foods are off limit I will log every bite of everything and if I choose to eat more than allotted for my activity I will have to be more active to stay within my calorie deficit for the day and see how everything goes from there. Feel free to join me on this journey. Also add me as a friend so we can challange each other.

Hello! I am brand new to the community feature but not new to fitibt. I'm finding that on my own I lack continued motivation so I frequently go on and off wearing my fitbit and staying accountable. I'm trying something new and thought this was a good place to start. Any help in how this challenge works and how I should jump in would be great! Looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully fulfill my goal to lose 15 pounds by Christmas!

Good for you! I can't wait to be able to say that! Since I joined this challenge I have lost 7 pounds. I am pleased with my results. It really helps me to write everything down that I eat even if I have gone over, My steps have reached 6000, and my strengh is getting better. I can walk longer and longer without letting my heart rate get to high with the afib.
@_Lilac_ wrote:@Annabel398 Woohoo! I am so proud of you. That's fantastic. I don't think I've had a healthy BMI since I was 8 yrs old. I'm back on the chart though! Just. I'm in the -alarms blaring, flashing lights, 'danger danger' on the loudspeaker- zone. For a while I was beyond it.
Here is to lowering BMI's!!!!!

It's been a weird week with my weight. It has seriously been all over the map. Although that's not highly unusual I can usually figure out a high jump (salt, water, etc.). The last 4 days I've gone up and up and up, then dropped almost 4 pounds today. Odd.

I am really struggling, weird 2 weeks here and just not able to focus. Am doing pretty good with being active but not watching my food intake and spending time gazing into the fridge without thinking. I know what I have to do just can't seem to keep myself on track. I know I am up in weight and am probably back to where I started at the beginning of the challenge (ugh).
Turning the corner and starting tomorrow (when I am home again) I am going to actually list my weight as I appreciate what others have done and I think it will help with my accountability.
Reading everyone's success is motivating, just need to get my butt in gear!

@SunsetRunner - I always try and encourage people to post, even if they've gained. It's way too easy to say that you'll skip it one week and only post once you're back on track. However, I suspect that a lot of the people who disappear mid-weight loss have come to the point where they aren't trying anymore. Although I do join the challenges I post in the weekly weigh-in thread as for me it's a longer journey than any of the challenges.

@A_Lurker Thanks for your message and I think you are absolutely right. I have to re-lose about 50 pounds after 4 years of just "coasting" and the accountability thing is the key. I am also here for longer than the challenge so will check out the weekly weigh in area as well! Thanks for the info!

Monday check in -- last Friday and Saturday way over on calories/ too many pitch ins! yum.
But Sunday thanks to a Daily showdown and goal day- made a concentrated effort to walk (very pretty day!) so walked to Church and back, with dog walk and yard work -- GREAT day Sunday.
ended up with .2 loss- (thank God--)

@Gayle1018 I feel you...lol. Tomorrow is my weigh day and I am praying for a loss, even i its a small one..lol. I for some reason don't have the best gut feeling about it, and to be honest not 100% why. I haven't done horrible or anything this week, but haven't walked or exercised, so I guess maybe that's why.. feeling a little guilty for not exercising this week. I will do my weekly weigh in tomorrow. All should tell then...lol.

@A_Lurker I never really thought of it as you put it. I mean I know its a longer journey than the challenges, but hadn't even given thought to the weekly weigh in post. I will be joining that one tomorrow, when I have my weekly weigh in. Look forward to having one more place to keep me accountable. See why I love these posts... I learn from you all.

@BLLingg I agree. I think having the fitbit, the site, and the people in these forums makes the journey so much more interesting and encouraging. You see numbers, you see progress, and even if you don't you get to share with people and they have ideas or just empathize. There is a wealth of knowledge and support around here.

Achieved a major milestone this week--I'm finally out of the Overweight BMI zone! <happy dance> Just barely, of course (24.9) but I'll take it!
I have also noticed a pattern, which is that I tend to have good losses Saturday and Sunday mornings and then go back up a bit on Monday morning--guess that means I'm indulging myself a little on Sundays. Now that I've noticed it, it may help me be more conscious about the treats.
How's everyone else doing?

This weekend was my hubby's birthday and we had a few dinners for it. One of these days I'll learn moderation at social events but apparently this weekend it didn't happen lol.
I'm also revising my goal. With two weeks of cummalative 0 loss, I already know it will be too much to try for -2 lbs each week including the holidays. I've upped my exercise time but I know the eatting will also increase during this time. Trying to keep it a bit more realistic during this busy time.
