Valentines Day to Easter Challenge 2016

Welcome to the next challenge! Smiley Very Happy

This one will run from Valentines day to Easter, so from February 14th to March 27th. Everyone and anyone can join this challenge in which we all set our own weight loss goals, this gives us 7 weeks in total to work towards them! Smiley Happy

This group of lovely people provides encouraging support and words of advice as we all share our experiences, good and bad. It has proved beyond helpful to myself and many others as we become healthier and achieve amazing things.

To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.

So excited for us to keep working towards our goals with the fantastic friends from the last challenges and a big 'Hello!' to all the challenge newbies! Smiley Very Happy

Thank you @awood08 for kicking off the last challenge! Smiley Very Happy

So I'm a day early with my weigh-in, but I've got a busy day tomorrow and I didn't want to forget.  Last week I weighed in at 257lbs.  Today I came in at 254.7 - a very encouraging start and has put a smile on my face.

My goal for week #2 is remember to track everything I put in my mouth.

Congrats everyone on their successes so far!

Just curious, friends - when do you weigh yourself?  I usually do after breakfast and right out of the shower, but for some reason when I woke up this morning I weighed myself after going to the bathroom and brushing my teeth (before breakfast) and my weight was 4 pounds lighter?  Is that possible??

Hi...I know the feeling about the knee replacement. My doc told me 10 years
ago I needed one but was too young -I had to put it off as long as
possible. So he set me to cycling regularly.I just use my bike mostly at
home on a stand.Best thing ever.

Hi knee issues here too but not from hard snow labor just too much dancing.  Appt with Doc on Mon. In past he has given me Hyluronic Acid Gel injections, a series of 3, and it helped a lot for over a year.  Also now there are synthetic cartlege replacements if they catch it early enough. Coming soon maybe even stem cell transfers to help but I have to learn more about that.

Tumeric is a natural anti-inflammatory treatment in food or capsule.

About size 8 - Make a goal that suits your height and frame. Don't compare- just set your goals and go for it.

Check your BMI online to know when you r in the healthy zone.

Eat lots of veggies, raw and cooked, not french fries and junk food, and eat only whole grains and lean protein. Low carbs and sugars will get you there. You will look great at the wedding I bet.

Best,

BMI calculator online - enter weight, height, gender and see if you are in the healthy range. Sometimes our image in the mirror looks larger than we really are. Our brains can play tricks on us. Stay healthy.

Time for my weekly check in. I did not do well in regards to diet or exercise this week, so not much of a loss but still a loss! I'm gonna get back into the groove of eating better, running and doing my daily burn this week though. I may even try to get on the bowflex m3 that we have...

Weigh in day... Lost 2.4 lbs this week. I'm currently at 203.2. Getting so close to my first goal which is under 200!

I was good with food and steps this week! I got 81,609 steps this week. The weekend warrior that @Thyroid_issues did helped. Made me push my steps yesterday. It was also decided that we're either on different time zones or she doesn't sleep at all! Lol. I'll def be doing those again.

I had one day (Friday) where I had a sandwich from Jersey Mike's and baked chips for lunch. That night I kept dinner light to compensate for the cheat.

I found the absolute most delicious protein bars. Power Crunch Chocolate Thin Mints. They taste like thin mints. They have 13g of protein and low carb. I can't have too much protein in bars or shakes because it causes terrible gas issues. This one settled very well in my stomach... Didn't feel like a brick.

I'll be adding strength training this week!

Made the absolute most delicious salad yesterday... Wish I could post a pic! Spinach, chicken, avocado, mango, cranberries, goat cheese, and a little bit of light olive oil. Came out amazing and was super filling.

Good job everyone!! Let's keep up the good work.
