Down this week again, which is good.  I actually ate a little more this week as I felt a little worn out.  Probably more to do with stress at work, still another long week coming.  It's only a short week this week, Canada Day on Friday.  That gives me a long weekend, then 2 days in the plant, one day of training and another 4 days off.  Very much looking forward to it as, although I made more progress in the garden today, it still needs more work.  Too hot today, but I may go back later.

I really am enjoying using trendweight for the daily weighing.  If nothing else it showed me a lighter weight on Friday morning, which makes me feel I'm still on a good trend.

Stayed the same this week. Basically I didn't do much exercise at all. I have managed to hurt my knee walking my dog. I have a very large and determined mutt. He wanted to to go one way and me another. My knee got yanked in the process. It is feeling better this week though so I should be able to get back to it.

Hi! New here.

Start weight: 200 lbs. 6/27/2016

Goal weight: 155 lbs.

I started the 21 Day Fix exercise program this morning, but I'm eating ketogenic. I did the 21 Day Fix for four rounds last autumn (with their food model but no shakes) and lost 8 pounds total, and I've gained that back plus 25 extra pounds (up 8 pounds since getting my Fitbit in April).

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi everyone!  It's encouraging to read all of your weight loss journey's :).  I thought this would be a good way to help me be accountable for my weight loss journey as well.  It started when I purchased a Fitbit in March.  It's been slow going but I have lost some.  I recently joined a gym, and am watching more of what I eat, as well as portion control so I'm hoping to drop these unwanted pounds a little more quickly!

Start weight:  222.9 lbs - 03/01/2016

Weight today: 209.8 lbs - 06/27/2016

Goal weight:  170 lbs by November

40 lbs by the end of November is reasonable, right? lol

Have a great week and looking forward to next Monday's weigh-in!!

Last Week      191.5

This Week      193.8

Weight continuing to go up although I am eating right and adding some cardio and weight lifting in. I had really good results when I introduced HIIT and have gotten away from that the last few months. The plan is to add 3 HIIT sessions this week and see how that goes.

Weekly loss (gain)  .4 lbs

The new normal is feeling good.  A nice week with a smaller enough loss that I'll call it maintenance.  I'm pretty happy with how I am able to eat and still loose.  I am never walking around hungry and I allow myself some treats, just keep them small.  We travelled to my sister's this weekend and even with travelling, I am comfortable with my food choices.  Keep up the good work, everyone.

@whitesox I'm glad to see you aren't discouraged but I am wondering why you have not yet been able to swtich the momemtum.  It sounds like you're getting pretty fit, are you checking your measurements and/or calculating body fat percentage as you go?  Maybe you're getting ripped?  If that's not the case, are you logging your food and figuring out macros at all?  Maybe your balance is off.  Stick with it, you've been doing great.  I am easily discouraged by one bad week so seeing your remain focussed despite gaining for a few weeks is very inspiring.  Keep kicking **ahem** :-).

Well this week just wasn't my week, although I have to say, it was tons of fun. I had date night with hubs on Sat followed by a girls trip on Sunday and both days did not eat like I should have. I'm still down a half a pound, but had been hoping to be down 1.5 lbs by today.

My goal for this week is portion control (we'll see how that goes with the holiday weekend). Good job to everyone who's made progress!

Starting weight: 148

Last week's weight: 141

Current weight: 140.4

Mini-goal: 139 by June 28 (not gonna hit it)

Goal weight: 130

Gained .2 lbs at weigh in. Hoping for a better showing next week. My goal is still 165 by July 4th, I should get there if I push hard enough. I have been lower than 166 throughout the week, just at weigh in am I usually above. I have been as low as 163-164lbs during the week. Just going to have to change my activity levels and what I eat on weekends that bump my weight up like that. I hate to admit it but I am usually less active on weekends, and I like to eat a little more than I do during the week.

Good Luck Everyone!!

I've had an extremely low activity long weekend.  In a way, it's not so bad, kind of needed it.  Did more weeding, but not a lot of heavy lifting stuff.  Saturday and Sunday were warm without being super hot.  Swam, read, etc.

Weird week, with food brought in for customer visits all week.  I usually guess at calories, but could be off on intake.  Still, I'm down, so that's good.  I have a three days of work followed by a 4-day weekend, but I suspect that I've reached a natural break week.  So, working on maintaining this week, rest up, then hit it harder after that.

Way to go @whitesox, I've been waiting to see your numbers come down again, good to see you back on track.
I hit 165.8 for a couple of days last week and I think I got a little cocky going in to the long weekend and ate with a little too much reckless abandon.  I was still eating salads and such but was a lot looser with quantity and snacking so it caught me a bit.  Wake up call I guess, I cannot let my guard down and maintain.  Eating lean and clean this week so I don't start heading the wrong direction.  In reality, I'm still below freaking 170 and I celebrate that, I just don't want to start a momentum in the wrong direction.

Best Answer

@tamado you definitely don't want to end up traveling the same road I did the last 2.5 months. Weight was coming off easy, I started slacking by cutting cardio down. Weight was still coming off so I cut it out all together. I got lazy. Then I started eating things here and there that I shouldn't. I never went overboard. It would be like a slice of toast or a cookie. Even though it wasn't much, I believe my metabolism slowed due to being less active and coupled with maybe a few hundred calories more per day, led to the weight gain.

I believe I was around a 500 cal/day deficit while doing cardio and sticking to my nutrition plan. Take away the cardio and the boosted metabolism from staying active, add in the few hundred calories from eating more (whether it was extra chicken or something I shouldn't have) and it's easy to create a caloric surplus.

So at either rate, I am feeling motivated again and have a short term goal of 185 by the end of July. Truth be told, that 2.5 month bender set me back a solid 5 months. I should be at my ultimate goal now. I hit a low of 175 lbs around April 10th. If I continue to lose at the rate I have lost in the past (about 5 lbs a month), I'm looking at end of September just to get to where I was in April.

Thanks for the encouragement @whitesox.  I agree, that is what I am trying to avoid.  When I react to weighing in a couple of lbs heavier my wife is somewhat dismissive or even concerned that I am obsessing about my weight.  I am a big believer in momentum - it seems that it takes time to stop and start weight changes.  If I have a momentum of gaining, I want to stop it dead.  It may just be water weight or a couple of extra calories but it is just a wake up call to stay vigilant.
I'm loving my new body.  I was tubing on the lake with the kids this weekend and bouncing around and jumping in and it was a blast.  I did that last year too but it was completely different now.  I was also not sore for two days after this time.
