I hear you about not wanting to set that last final goal-it can seem overwhelming.  Keep going with the weekly losses no matter what the number; putting together week after week keeps moving you towards the finish line!

Greetings all,

I have had a busy week, though not quite as full on as last week, Maintenance is having its ups and downs at least as far as the scale goes.

USW June 2013, 84 kg, 185.2 lb,

CSW July 9, 2016, 56.7kg, 125 lbs, BMI 23.6

LW                          56.9kg, 125.5lbs, BMI 23.7

CW                         57.3kg, 126.3lbs, BMI 23.9 but at least Im still rocking around in the same area as yesterday I was 56.9kg and the day before. My food intake has been consistantly just 40-100 cals under my output, but water and sleep have not been very consistant but I think thats due to some very unseasonal weather here and will settle down. My acivity has increased until the rain started again and I go to gym three sessions each week now. Really looking forward to my holiday in August when I head off to visit my family at the other end of Queensland. Wishing you all a super week. Keep your eyes on the goals folks, they are worth the effort.

So, Friday night was a complete bust calorie-wise. Went out for a drink or two and we ended up not only with appetizers, but coming back to my place for a swim afterwards.  That involved picking up more alcohol (coolers, which I don't usually drink) and food (take-out).  I'd been out the previous Friday and had kept the calories in check.  However, this last Friday I ended up way over for the day.  Huge jump on the scale Saturday morning, and even though I know the number wasn't actually real, kept me moving a little more yesterday.  I suspect I'll be down a bit more tomorrow, but this week's weigh-in for now:

USW: 407.0

CSW: 360.0 (2/1/16)

PW: 302.8 (7/17/16)

And just for fun, the last 2 weeks trendweight:

Now 114.9kg (25/07/2016)
Goal 70kg
Loss this week 1.3kg
Loss to date 10.6kg
Mini goal 115kg

I have finally reached my mini goal of 115kg and have now lost over 10kg. I had a very active week and pushed myself with the walking and activity. It paid off on the scales. My legs are sore though 🙂

My new mini goal will be 110kg. On the exercise front I am going to try and maintain my current levels, I am averaging 12,000 steps per day.

Well, I'm stuck.  But, that's ok.  I'm not discouraged.  My body has been overweight for so long it just doesn't want to give up the fat.

Average weigh in this past week was 191.0. Down 0.7 from last weeks average of 191.7. High weigh in was 192.1 and low weigh in was 190.1. I aggravated an old knee injury and was limited to 2 cardio sessions (I aim for 3) and 4 weight lifting sessions. I'm aiming for an average weigh in below 190 by the end of the month. I'll take the last 7 days starting with today. It's going to be a close one.

I'm in! I've been doing Weight Watchers and love the "Connect" feature for support. But maybe we can be support for each other. I started at 156.8 lbs in April and weighed in today at 141.6. I like tracking my food and steps on Fitbit ... Very motivating to stay in the "green!" Good luck and "move it, move it!"

Welcome to all of the recent newcomers.  We don't always comment but I think most of us read each other's posts.  I know being part of this accountability has made a big difference for me and I hope it does the same for you.  I know I cannot lie here (I'd only be lying to myself) - if I log a weight, that's what my scale said.  I still get nervous and excited when I do my official Monday weigh in even though I have been watching my weight all week.  I wish you all the best, feel free to post more than stats if you want to talk or want feedback.

Greetings all,

I am holding steady this week even though my daily weight is all over the place lol

Last Week 57.3 kg, 126.3 lbs, BMI 23.9,

This week is the same as above though I have been as light as 56.9 and as heavy as 57.8kg(125.5 - 127.4 lbs) but am continually on alert. My walking has increased from an avg 5klm daily to just under 8klms and Im not complaining as long as the sun is out or at least overcast as our winters are mild compared to some.

So the weight loss is still not going the way I expected it to.  I saw 300.2 on Friday morning, but Saturday bounced back up a bit.  I know weight loss isn't linear, but I still wonder about the really high burn days (ie. are they accurate).  Good decision or bad decision I've decided to cap off the calories at 2500 a day even on higher burn days.

I was thinking about posts where people say they're doing 10,000 steps and not losing weight.  I don't usually do 10,000 steps (knees don't really take it, still need to lose more weight before increasing those steps), however, I have 4 days of over 10,000 steps over the last 10 days.  Just for fun, a comparison on how many calories burned, and how many active minutes and such.

07/23     10,027 steps    4,127 calories     127 active minutes (5h22m fat burn, 18m cardio, 0m peak)

07/25     10,087 steps    4,222 calories       58 active minutes (4h51m fat burn, 23m cardio, 4m peak)

07/29     10,040 steps    4,624 calories     170 active minutes (7h52m fat burn, 37m cardio, 0m peak)

07/30     10,099 steps    3,972 calories     122 active minutes (4h56m fat burn, 14m cardio, 0m peak

So, more active 10K steps vs less active 10K steps burned 16% more calories.  So, how you're doing those steps counts as well.

Anyway, off I go to a probably low activity day.  I was doing engineering trials on the production floor on Friday, and lots of stuff yesterday.  My back is hurting a bit today, and my knees are feeling the recent up-tick in activity.  I've got two more days off and way more stuff to do.  In the meantime today can be a laundry day.

Hi @A_Lurker, I would say accurate for your current weight, as you shed weight it becomes harder to earn that many calories, i.e, my recent stats and I am hovering around 125-127lbs.

7/25; 12520 steps, 8.01 klms, 90 mins, 1675 calories burned, 7h 47m fat burn, 38m cardio, 0m peak

7/26;  10037 steps, 6.42 klms, 84mins,  1637 calories burned, 4h 56m fa burn, 34m cardio, 14m peak

7/28,  13217 steps, 8.45klms, 164 mins, 2009 calories burned, 6h 47 fat burn, 1h 10m cardio, 16m peak

7/29,  13522 steps, 8.64klms, 79mins, 1712 calories burned, 7h 27m fat burn, 31m cardio, 0m peak.

And yes, I too found I burned more calories with a little less effort, but I am much fitter for making the effort even if the loss slows a little you are gaining strength, stamina and muscle as well as building stronger bones and reconditioning your heart and lungs.

Best Answer

@RubyH - Thanks for your information.  If you look at your last two days there, same thing.  You walked 300 more steps on the 29th, but burned approximately 17% more the day before.  Just for something for people to look at when they are doing their steps each day.  Even though my own person fitness level still sucks, I noticed something on Friday.  I was out on the production floor, but had to come in for a conference call.  My heart rate was over 85bpm, ranging up to 123bpm for the hour before I came in.  However, when sitting down on the call it dropped down into the low to mid-50s.  I'd have to look back, but the recovery is better than I think it used to be.
