Looks like I dropped some water weight this week, which is great. Although, that means I'll start retaining water again in the coming weeks. I have increased my water intake by about 25% (I already drink plenty), so I'm curious to see if this will help with my monthly fluctuations.
I also have a couple of non-scale victories for this week.
I ran my first 5k! Actually, it was a bit more, so even better. I live in a very hilly neighborhood, so it took me a bit to work up to 5k with all the hill work. But, I did it!
Also, I fit into a size 10 jeans. They are actually a tad big in the waist, but since I have an hourglass figure, I know that 8 will be uncomfortably tight in the hips region. I just got a cheap pair to hold me over until I can start wearing my own clothes, so it's not surprising that the fit is not the best. But, still, a size 10!!

My entry for the week. With the medical all clear I've been able to get back into my more rigorous routine. It also seems like my supposed water weight assumption last week was wrong. Still not sure why I dropped 3 lbs in a week when I eat the same and was doing the same workout routine.

Hello everyone! I have been a FitBit user for about 2 years now, but I tend to make and break progress quite regularly! Last year, I was seeing a nutritionist in addition to tracking my exercise using my fitbit and during that time I managed to lose 20 lbs! Some of that weight has made its way back to my body now though! I've made the most progress when I manage to stay motivated! So, lately I've been down in the dumps because I've been so busy with life (full time college senior, full time student teaching, weekend job and an attempt at social life) that I have gained back more weight than I want to admit. Here is my realization...MY TIME IS NOW! I need to get on top of my health and fitness. I would love to receive and provide support and motivation in the community because not only is this MY time...IT'S OUR TIME! Let's do this! 😄
For this reason, I would like to hold myself accountable for my goals and I will post my current weight and goal weight tonight. (Mostly because I need to put new batteries in my FitBit Aria scale)
Thanks for reading and holding me accountable!

A little late on my update, but this is officially the lowest that I have been, with no weird water weight, post illness, etc. event, in at least six years. I just keep thinking that every sprint, every lunge during prep cycle gets me closer to the mini-goal in April, and will also get me closer to the ultimate goal of that conditional first degree black belt at the end of the 24 hour test 4/28-4/29. Still working on quality calories. I'll get better. Have to get a run in tonight to keep pushing down my Sunday run time. We have a 1.6 mile run we do at an outdoors track every Sunday morning, and I managed to cut a hair over two minutes off of my time. We just need to keep improving, so I need to do some work outside of class to get there. Here's hoping!

@itsmytime You're absolutely right to keep working on this and moving forward. I kick myself for wasting those years at the end of college and then in law school ignoring my health, or being so wildly inconsistent that it really didn't matter. Good habits now will only help when your life morphs into something else-work, relationships, etc. Good luck and welcome!

Another good week. The unusually nice weather helped keep me moving -- outside!! Back to reality now....crummy weather so trying to keep up with the walking videos in the morning. I have found that the most important thing for me is to meal prep on Sunday's so that I have all my lunches....and even some dinners....ready to grab and go. If I didn't do this I could definitely see myself running across the street to the mini-mart at lunch time and grabbing a bag of Cheetos or some other snack food instead of a healthy lunch.
Have a good week!

A good week for me overall, but a bad week for weight loss. I know I've talked about it before in other posts but how you do your steps is often more important than how many. I spent most of last week sitting in one place for long periods of time. I made up my steps at the end of each day, but calories burned were low. As well, the food was all purchased for me and I really wasn't paying any attention. Then on my way home I bought some Ukranian food from a church on my route and individually it isn't bad, but I had two nights of it all together. I'm down a little from yesterday, so some of it is likely still water retention, but I'll know more next week. One week without progress is not really a big deal. I'm actually off work next week so I'm thinking I'll make some time for some extra exercise.

Happy with my loss this week but ecstatic about the jump in my fitness and activity levels.
I have more energy.
I started being an Airbnb Host in January and now my house has to be super clean. A friend suggested I pay a cleaner and I thought why pay a cleaner and then pay for a gym or exercise class. Cleaning is an all round workout. I get quite a sweat up.

Still on track. Lifting weights and doing cardio 3-4 times a week and adding a crossfit session on Saturday's. Already seeing an improvement in my aerobic conditioning after only 3 crossfit sessions. As a result, I'm working a little harder during my cardio sessions to get my heart rate in the target range. I have about 10 lbs to go to reach my ultimate goal.

I'm listening to an audio book called "The SEcret Life of Fat" and it is very informative. Who knew that fat is an organ and that it produces lots of hormones?! It is essential to life; not too much but enough. Never heard of Liptin before either. Knowledge is always good stuff.
and .... HAPPY MARDI GRAS EVERYONE! As someone born and raised in New Orleans I miss the parades and fun going on right now.

Maintenance mode
Loss Range 105 lbs +/- 5 lbs
I know that being in maintenance means I will see some fluctuation in my weight but seeing 1.5 lbs heavier this week is a little tough to swallow. We just got back from a whirlwind trip to see my sister at her new home on the West coast. A four day trip that included 1200 miles through the Canadian rockies and two 12 hour days of driving means my activity level was down and I had to make some dietary sacrifices. I tried to pack healthy road food but it's tough to control quantity when there's no activity to consume the calories. I packed salad stuff and fruit for the road but also got into some jerky/pepperoni sticks on the way home as well as nuts so overall, a bit too much sodium and I'm likely holding on to some water right now. We did have some great hiking and a good hour of yoga while we were there so at least we were not sedentary but nothing compared to a normal work week for me.
I will be curious to see what happens in the next week. It should be a good week and this coming weekend I will be volunteering at Saskatchewan's world record telethon, telemiracle (google it, it's amazing) so I will be running around helping out in food services (which also means having to keep myself from perpetual feeding).
The anxiety I get around my weight loss is still extremely real. I really get scared any time the scale does not say what it's supposed to. I am seeking to balance mindfulness with obsession and it's a tricky line for me. An overall view of health and self through yoga is helping me to get there.
Cheers,
Leighton

Hi @tamado. Stay on top of not putting the weight back on. The weight loss you have achieved is amazing. Overtime I think you will stress out about it less and less.

@tomado, you are just so supportive for the rest of us. You are a total inspiration. I understand your worry and frustration.
There is no magic pill that leads to weight loss. I have been terribly frustrated at how slowly this is all going. Last week was different. I was home and it was terrible weather. My steps were mainly earned in the house, which are a different kind. This week it is back to regular activity and eating.
Things are moving very slowly. Still, I'll take any loss!
