As of June 10, my goal is to lose 1/2 to 1 lbs of fat/week lowering my body weight to about 155 lbs, the bottom of my new maintenance range. My plan has been to eat around 2200 cal/day to do this, but so far I've gone a bit over that.

Initial starting weight: 202.3 lbs - Jan. 6. 2017

Lost 42 lbs (to around 160 lbs) by Aug. 2017.

                                             Ave. daily calories in last week.

  • Sun, 6/10:    167.3 lbs  2901  (end maint/begin cut)
  • Sun, 6/17:    167.5 lbs  2883
  • Sun, 6/24:    166.5 lbs  2692

-1 lbs since last week, -0.8 lbs since June 10.

Goal Range: 155-165 lbs

TrendWeight had me at 167 lbs on June so I compared my fat percentage to the last two times I was 167.  The change is not dramatic, but it appears I have a little more muscle at 167 than I did a year ago, so the weight-training and diet seem to be having an effect.

Week 3/12 of cutting phase during which I’am trying to lose between 0.25 and 0.50 kg per week in average:

Week 0, ending 4-Jun-18: 64.4 kg, 14.2k steps, 2819 cal.

Week 1, ending 11-Jun-18: 64.7 kg, 20.2k steps, 3162 cal. -> +0.29 kg

Week 2, ending 18-Jun-18: 63.6 kg, 21.8k steps, 3098 cal. -> -1.17 kg

Week 3, ending 25-Jun-18: 63.1 kg, 17.2k steps, 2952 cal. -> -0.47 kg

I’m now riding the -0.5 kg per week curve:

I’m on vacation for the next 3.5 weeks and I expect higher activity than usual, which should allow me to be closer to the red curve than to the blue one.

@LisaMH69 It looks like we're on the same journey. I started off .2 lbs heavier than you @ 225 lbs. My first goal, which I reached on Sunday (06/24/18), was to get under 200 lbs. I hope we can monitor each other and keep things going. Keep up the good work! Oh, I also started in April! Smiley Tongue

Hi Jotex,
I was looking back to find the exact name of the participant who said they were about to reach their goal of being below the 200’s, but it’s a pain. I was responding to whomever that was.

I really don’t like this whole format. It’s very impersonal, and I don’t understand the terminology many posters are using. I was hoping for something more emotionally supportive than just numbers.

Hi @Katsong — thanks! Didn’t mean to sound like I was giving you a hard time. It took me a little while to ‘learn the ropes’. If you type the @ symbol in your post, you’ll notice a pop-up list of participants (most recently posted at top, or the person whose post you want to reply to will be on top). Select that person.

Sometimes I have had to ask what someone meant by an abbreviation, if I am curious. Pretty much everyone reports their weight in the format they choose. I find my previous week’s post, select>copy> and then paste it in a new reply comment box. Edit it accordingly (usually only the CW for current weight). Presto, chango, and I’m done.

Anyway, I’m glad you’re here! Take care! 🌷

@Katsong, there's a somewhat chattier group (with lots of overlap with this one) which runs a more or less continuous weight loss "challenge" in chunks of time based on US holidays: for instance, they are currently running a Mother's Day to July 4th challenge, and people set goals for themselves in that period.

Usually they immediately start a new challenge -- like 4th July to Labor Day will probably be next...

If that sounds like it would be interesting and fun for you, have a look at the pinned posts in blue at the top of the page.

To be frank I need a lot of structure when I’m in active weightless mode, so I did Jenny Craig. I worked in the weightless industry for many years, Nutri/System and Jenny Craig, so I know how to lose weight…I just need the accountability/kudos that one gets from meeting with someone each week. Keeping track of all my food on this site has helped me, and is helping me transition to “regular” food, calorically.

Thanks for asking!

@Katsong - your recent post reminded me that you hadn’t posted in this tread for a while.  Maybe because you hit your weight loss goal by the time you posted the response above?  Wondering how your transition from Jenny Craig to regular food has been going?

Hi Baltoscott,
Yes, I did reach my goal about three months ago, and have managed to keep the weight off since. I followed Jenny Craig, and I used my fitbit website to track all my exercise and food. As I was getting to the end of my weightloss journey I continued to enter the non-Jenny Craig foods I was eating. I also was learning how many calories I was burning each day. This allowed me to be more aware. I lost 35 lbs. in about four months, and I’m a 61 year old woman (5’9’/142#s), so folks shouldn’t think it can’t be done. I also was running 3-5 miles everyday, including a longer run on Saturdays of 10+ miles. Now I just need to commit to the running and hiking, and watch the grazing.

My current goal is to lose 1/2 to 1 lbs of fat /week lowering to about 155 lbs, the bottom of my new maintenance range. If it works out and most weight loss if fat instead of LBM, my body fat % should be lower at various weights than it was last year.

Current progress ...

  • Sun, 6/24:    166.5 lbs  2692
  • Sun, 7/1:      165.5 lbs  2861

-1 lbs since last week, -1.8 lbs since June 10.

Goal Range: 155-165 lbs

Fat% at 166 lbs this week was down a little bit from  earlier this year and last year.
