Disappointed in myself, because I seemed to have overcome a plateau. I somehow gained 2.2 kg this past week (!!!). I have fallen off the wagon, so-to-speak, with being ‘faithful’ to my keto diet. Although I ate a lot of yummy 😋 raclette cheese (lots of fat, some protein, no carbs!), it is eaten with new potatoes or veggies. And best enjoyed with white wine. #gottagetbackontrack #nocheese4methisweek

@Jotex — I’m sure you know this already, but weight fluctuation is pretty common with Keto and other low-carb diets if you ‘break the rules’ because as you remove/add carbs your glycogen stores go down/up causing you to lose/retain water weight. Sounds like the potatoes and wine may have just increased your glycogen stores. That weight change is definitely not fat and not really anything to worry about IMO.

Thanks SO much for your encouraging comment @Baltoscott! I forgot about that. Will get back on course and stay put!

Week 8/8 of maintenance phase (following 12-week fat loss phase), where the goal is to keep the weight between 58 and 59 kg:
Week 0, ending 27-Aug-18: 58.8 kg, 15.2k steps, 3008 cal. -> -0.82 kg
Week 1, ending 3-Sep-18: 58.2 kg, 15.9k steps, 2935 cal. -> -0.64 kg
Week 2, ending 10-Sep-18: 58.0 kg, 16.1k steps, 2844 cal. -> -0.19 kg
Week 3, ending 17-Sep-18: 57.8 kg, 14.2k steps, 2572 cal. -> -0.19 kg
Week 4, ending 24-Sep-18: 58.2 kg, 16.2k steps, 2796 cal. -> +0.34 kg
Week 5, ending 1-Oct-18: 58.2 kg, 15.1k steps, 2722 cal. -> +0.04 kg
Week 6, ending 8-Oct-18: 58.6 kg, 12.4k steps, 2595 cal. -> +0.41 kg
Week 7, ending 15-Oct-18: 58.4 kg, 14.6k steps, 2718 cal. -> -0.19 kg
Week 8, ending 22-Oct-18: 58.5 kg, 11.7k steps, 2498 cal. -> +0.01 kg
Hardly any change from last week, still about in the middle of the maintenance range. Lower step count than usual as I’ve been focusing on weight lifting (overreaching week in my program, with very long sessions). I’ve decided to extend the current maintenance phase by another 6 weeks, for a total of 14 weeks:
Part of the reason is I want to make my lower body fat % better "stick". It seems to be bottoming out at 12.5%, though:
The other reason is I have two "disrupting" trips coming up during the next 6 weeks: the first one is to the US (New Orleans, leaving tomorrow), the second one will be to France visiting family in early December. I know from past experience I tend to gain about 2 kg during such trips. I’ll try to do my best in NOLA, but there will be a lot of sitting & social occasions, and I do intend to taste Cajun cuisine .

USW, Jan. 6, 2017: 202.3 lbs
-7.7 lbs since June 10.
Goal Range: 155-165 lbs
Down 0.4 lbs since last week. Might have been a bit more but a beach weekend was a bit of a diet mess. Still, encouraged that my hunger cues are actually helping me lose weight without tracking everything in MFP. Limiting eating to meals seems to help a lot on that count.

@HoosierDaddy73: I know you have several years worth of weigh-ins in Fitbit, but your TrendWeight history only starts a few months back. Just in case it’s not intentional and you’re not aware of it: you can ask TrendWeight to pull off your Fitbit weight data as far back as it goes. This is done via Settings > Goal Settings > Start Date (in Trendweight).
Congrats for your well started weight loss endeavour, btw! About 1 pound per week sounds perfect in your situation.

@Dominique - Thanks for the input. Actually, it was intentional for me to only go a few weeks back. Here is why: The current start date of my Trendweight is from September 10th of this year, even though I've been tracking my weight in Fitbit since October of 2014. The reason is that on Sept. 10th this year I matched my all-time high over that period (189.9 pounds). Although I've had lows much lower than anything measured in this time period, I figured starting from the all-time high was a reasonable place to start.
Of course, what I'm missing in all this is seeing the many fluctuations, including seeing my all time lows. But mentally I know what those are. I've been at an all time low of 173, and my goal weight is just slightly lower than that at 170. Plus, the Aria scale is fairly recent and I know there was some difference in calibration between the two scales I have used over the years.

One of the great things about using TrendWeight with Fitbit or Withings/Nokia is the ability to easily change the data set it pulls from the source without messing up that source. That makes it easy to look at progress from a recent high as you are doing now @HoosierDaddy73 and switch back to the larger data set of all your Fitbit weigh-ins once you get to a maintenance or a working bulk/cut weight range where @Dominique is. (Seeing the ups and downs and where you have been can be good motivation come maintenance or fine tuning time as it reminds you of what happens if you go back to old habits).

@Baltoscott Great point about using Trendweight for different uses. I think you are right. In fact, after I get my weight down to about 175 (about 10 pounds from now) I think I will change the data set back to "all"...As you alluded to, that will hopefully give me the motivation not to have any more big slip-ups. I've had some big ol' swings that last couple years, unfortunately. I am pretty sure I can avoid those for the most part just by staying diligent.

Bit of an off week only losing -0.7 pounds, but at least it is still in the right direction. I have another two weeks of deficit to go before a short vacation to New Orleans, and then back to deficit mode until the holidays.

+0.3 lbs since last week. Didn't seem like that bad of a week, but I think some of the eating out and drinking at the beach last weekend excess showed up on the scale for my early week weigh-ins which pushed up TrendWeight for the week. Going into a rest week for weight lifting so I'll have to take that into account as part of this week's challenge.

Yet another off week, only lost -0.5 pounds, should be closer to -1.5 with a -750 daily calorie deficit. I suspect the culprits were one day of not being in deficit (those darn weekends!) and the end of the week was pretty stressful at work before my weigh in. One of the days I actually had activity minutes while sitting at my desk working. Still my overall loss during the last four weeks is -4.5 pounds, which is a decent slow rate. Hopefully I can get a good week in before heading off on vacation.

Down 1.6 pounds this week. Total loss of 6.9 pounds over 7 weeks, since I started tracking using trendweight. Definitely heading in the right direction; however, looking at my Fitbit weight data, which goes all the way back to 2014, I can see that I have still gained about a net 6 pounds in 2018 (from January to September was kind of a disaster). I'm hoping to make my way back to where I was at the beginning of January + a few more, and then hopefully switch to maintenance mode. Definitely feeling healthier.
Another thing to feel good about - I had a pretty bad cold over about the last week. So I haven't exercised since last Thursday and haven't gotten many steps either. It was only 4 days off running, but for me it feels like much longer. So the fact that I've continued to drop weight during these few days tells me I must be listening to my body better when it comes to eating.

Still, you've lost about 50 pounds this year, with two months to go. Impressive. Good job!
