Wow.  2019 is already half over.  It seems to go so fast.

I'm traveling most of next week and will have a little less control over when, what and where I eat.  I used to fear trips, but for the past year or so I feel like a lot of of my habits are so well ingrained that I only wind up deviating a little bit when I travel.  I don't feel all that deprived in my regular eating patterns, so maybe that makes it easier to not go overboard when traveling or on vacation.

No weight loss this week, in part because of that time of the month and the kids being off summer camp (so no long jogs—perils of single parenthood!). I'm going to work hard to drop at least a pound this week, though, family parties be darned! I think I've dropped the initial "big weight" that happens when you start really working on it, so now, one to one-and-a-half pounds seems like a good weekly goal.

Starting weight        205      5/29/2019

6/12/2019 weight    199.2   (-5.8)

6/19/2019 weight    195.4   (-3.8)

6/26/2019 weight    192.4   (-3.0)

Current weight        192.4   (0)

Mini goal weight      180 (BMR 29.9!!)

Goal weight             150

Happy Fourth, fellow Americans! (Everyone else in the world should have a happy fourth of July as well—it just might not include a celebration of your country's independence.)

I guess it goes in cycles, but participation in this thread seems to have dropped quite a bit over the summer.  Maybe everyone has moved to the app community?

I was out of town the most of the week of the 4th and the first weigh-in when I got back on July 8 was a big Jump to 164.6 lbs.  Yikes!  Because I report my moving average from TrendWeight here, I decided to wait until today (the 14th) to report.  I'm still up 1.5 lbs from before the trip, but that doesn't seem so bad when compared to the single weigh-in from last Monday!

@RachelShrinks -- the family parties are definity a challenge.  No real big tips other than don't graze, rather survey and eat what you REALLY like and limit yourself to one plate (and try to make half of that veggies), if you have a desert split it with a few people or cut yourself a small piece, and if you drink, try putting a glass or two of water, selzer, or some other no-cal drink in between the calorie drinks.

Hanging in there, sorry I have been MIA for 3 months. What??? I haven’t gone anywhere, just fell off track with food choices around my birthday in April. My weight started climbing again and maybe I was a little embarrassed to post it! Then, poof, the habit of posting here was derailed, too. Well, anyway, I’m back and aiming to be accountable.  I am committing here and now to stick with lower-carb eating (i.e., limit the flour-based stuff, sugar, etc.) along with consistent weight-bearing exercise to maintain muscle mass, for 2 months, say through mid-September. Can I do it? Can I break through my plateau? Let's see!

So far, so good with the lower-carb eating (i.e., limit the flour-based stuff, sugar, etc.). I’m not totally restricting but I am making a conscious effort to cut back on the processed carbs, for example, had an omelet but skipped the toast. Had a turkey burger without the bun.

I finally had a small loss this week.  Working on a trend, hope it continues!

Survived a day trip with friends during which I was the sole driver. I was very calm on the drive despite rush hour traffic at both ends, construction delays, and unfamiliar roads. I made mostly good food choices throughout, but once I got home, I think I did some delayed stress eating, had a big ice cream late in the day. So I won’t sweat the slight gain, just FIDO (forget it, drive on).

I had a week of ups and downs with my eating pattern. Overall, I did limit the processed carbs most days, but did have ice cream one evening and a couple slices of homemade pizza on another evening. This week, I’m aiming to stick with the less processed carbs and fewer snacks as well as getting my daily steps. Hoping the downward wt trend continues.

Definitely not the weight I was looking to regain but with Christmas, social gatherings, a hectic schedule and cold weather have made the gains (or lost pounds) I made over the last nine months negligible. Just have to start over when ALL these DISTRACTIONS are over and done with. Compared yearly and I always seem slack off this time of year.

@RedDodgerAZ : on a positive note, even with the recent gain, you’re still 12 lbs lighter than at the beginning of the year, and 33 lbs lighter than seven years ago. So the long term trend still looks good, and what you gained during the past two months can easily be squashed in Q1/2020, if you so decide.

Looking to lose weight for various reasons.  Family holiday to Disney Florida (as long as its not covid cancelled again - rescheduled from July 2020 to Oct 2021) and Wedding in May 2022.

Start weight: 20st 6lb (01/01/2020)
1st Goal weight: 18st (18/07/2020) - Reached on 06/06/2020

2nd Goal Weight: 17st (May 2021)

3rd Goal Weight: 16st (Dec 2021)

4th Goal Weight: 15st (May 2022)

Previous Weight: 18st 0lbs (06/06/2020) - The first goal reached

Previous Weight: 18st 5lbs (04/07/2020)

Current Weight: 18st 12lbs (18/12/2020)

Total Loss to Date: 1st 8lbs

At the moment I'm doing this via calorie counting and trying to keep to under 2000 calories a day. I would like to exercise more but I'm sat in a car for 3hrs per day on the daily commute to work and then in the studio all day.

If anyone has any good low calories recipes that are low-to-med in purine levels (I suffer from gout) please forward them over.

Hi ya,

My starting weight in June 2011 was 154 kilo

My weight in October 2015 was 64 kilo

My weight in December 2019 was 111 kilos

My weight today 14th January 2020 is 103.4 kilos

Its been a nine year journey with lots of family up-sets and poor health, but I'm getting through it all, and feel more positive in 2020 than ever.
