@Jotex — aha, I guessed that when you mentioned you couldn’t ride a bike that it was because it was painful, not because you didn’t have one.

@Baltoscott- Thanks for the encouragement! I've had a pretty busy past couple of days, so I'll most likely check-in either tomorrow or Sunday 🙂

I think I am similar to most of the women currently posting. I am 5 ft 2 (pretty sure I used to be taller - I guess I have shrunk) and 66.
I struggled with my weight throughout my teenage years but have had it under control pretty much all my adult life.
In my teen and early adult years I was pretty much on every diet ever written: Stillman (remember that one? I sixteen when I tried it and literally passed out cold on the floor after 3 days) Atkins, Scarsdale (that was the one based on the theory that fat people had no discipline so needed to be told what to eat every day. No choice: if it is Monday it is chicken breast. His girlfriend shot him. I am not surprised), F Plan (that’s lentils, lentils and more lentils, and don’t stray far from the loo). Also some pretty niche ones: I remember well the three hard boiled eggs, two grapefruits and one steak per day diet...
I swore off “dieting” years ago, an managed mostly by limiting carbs, but my weight has crept up during lockdown. I think that is mainly because instead of being out and about I am home, snacking.
124.5 this morning. No better than when I first posted.
Hopefully better next week...
Meanwhile @MarilynL do you have a recipe for cauliflower crust pizza?

@Baltoscott 🙂 I ride outside on a wonderful bike path though the wood and along the Chicago river I believe. Today I saw a doe and baby deer grazing in the woods . I ride about 5-6 miles a day. MY main thing is to ride an hour. I ride pretty slowly and as my bike is a semi recumbent ( and very comfortable thank you) but heavy everyone seems to fly by me. I have been averaging about 7.4 miles per hour BUT today I had Gloria Gaynor and friends singing on the iPhone and Lo!!!! LOL, I averaged 8.4 mph so look at me go 🙂

@Julia_G lovely to meet you. I will find the recipe for you but in the meanwhile if you can't wait 🙂 they sell them at Trader Joe's ( much more expensive than if you make it but its an option)
On a totally different note I just saw an over 80s!!!!women's basket ball team out of San Diego.Team name Splash. If you go to FB you can see them in action. I tell you they put us all to shame 🙂 Got to keep moving.
@Jotex wanted to mention Egoscue to you. Research them it may be a perfect solution to your knee problems with no pills or operations 🙂 Hope its feeling much better btw.

Thanks @MarilynL. I’ve been meaning to ask you about Egoscue but kept getting sidetracked. Thanks for bringing it up again. I’ll check it out. The pain comes and goes. Thankfully I have a good gel to apply topically that helps, and can take ibuprofen when it is really bad.
@Baltoscott - your assumption was a natural one. I had a bike but gave it to a friend a year or so ago as I wasn’t riding it and she needed one.

@MarilynL , Trader Joe’s is not an option for me, because I live in the U.K. (But I do have - call me brave- a ticket to Seattle for the end of August.
And I really want to be 120 lbs or less by then - or, as we say in these parts, 8 stone 8 (that’s just one pound over 8 and a half stone - which is a very desirable weight!)
Four weeks, less than 5 pounds, should be doable!

Went up a bit this week due to hormones and the increased hunger and water weight they bring, but I was expecting that to happen. Overindulged a bit yesterday on cookout food, but I'm back on track now!

Hi, @MarilynL , I guess it would make sense to post it here, as it is part of a conversation.
But you also might want to post it in the Healthy eating forum and then other people who aren’t on this thread could find it - and you might get some interesting replies.
If you post it on the healthy eating forum, probably the best way to do it would be to start a new topic with a title that makes it clear, like “cauliflower crust pizza” or whatever you think would be good. Also, if you post it there, ideally you would post a link here too, so we can find it. But if you aren’t sure how to do that, let us know and someone will post the link for you.
Thanks!

@Glenda , everyone has little ups and downs. It’s the trend over time that makes a difference.
Have you discovered trendweight.com? Lots of us use it to smooth out the inevitable results of one big meal, or carrying too much water, etc.

My weight has been up and down this week and I'm grateful to just weigh 118.8 which is almost a pound more this week but it could have been so much worse.

hey Glenda 🙂 It always can be worse!
An amazing thing happened this morning and I forgot to weigh in! I generally weigh everyday and as I open my eyes its to review what I ate yesterday and find reasons for the weight to go up or down. None of that happened today. Yay! Got dressed and went on my ride. The bottom line is that I will weigh in tomorrow.
@ Julia G- I must apologize regarding posting of the cauliflower crust. Lazy! Hopefully will have it tomorrow and post 🙂

This week I weighed 134.4
It is so sad that I find it so aggravating to use this site. So many many hoops to jump through.
@ Here is a recipe for Cauliflower Toast
Grate a half head of cauliflower ( or use a bag of pretreated cauliflower)
1 egg
salt.
1-2 TBS avocado oil
Heat a small frying pn with the oil
Beat the egg and add it to the cauliflower, season with salt.
Take a scoop of cauliflower mixture and put it in the pan. Part is down so it spreads thin. ( makes 3-4 slices)
Cook for 4-5 minutes ( till golden or darker if you prefer. Flip it over
If it cracks or breaks never fear, just flatten it and cook further 5 minutes.
Side onto a plate
For breakfast I then smooth on some guacomole and on top of that I add 2 fried eggs and its delicious!
For lunch or dinner add the guacamole and add some slices of meat or chicken with some red pepper flakes. Also add a side salad and there you go. Delicious and nutritious!
