Sigh - weight on Friday was about 136 to day 137!!!! Its the Jewish Holidays and its going to be about 3 weeks of eating and praying and eating some more. Got to get some control here!
I am 5'4 and size 4-6 so I must say that its very possible that size 10 UK for the lady who is 5'1 may be being misled by her nurse. Just saying, although I must agree that weight is a very personal thing and each to his own.

I've weighed myself this morning and I've gained 300g in the last 7 days, which is awesome and means that I'm right on target for putting on enough weight ready for when I go and see the nurse in January. As of first thing, I'm now 53.2kg which I'm really happy with.

Hi Amanda, You know I have been thinking of the nurse's advice. Perhaps you need to add muscle as opposed to just weight.( add more protein to you diet- lots of podcasts about muscle and older populations) That is more difficult to do - gym time but to just add weight- I don't know about that.
I have seen glenda in the flesh:) and she does not look underweight at all - just right when I saw her - of course in my opinion ( I have lots of those ) she could eat a more healthy diet- she knows I think that .... but she looks **ahem** good for her age let me tell you! 🙂

Thank you @MarilynL - I can't afford to go to the gym, and even if I had the money I've got no way to get there (can't even get to the end of our short street) so I'm relying on doing squats, planks, sit-ups and leg raises every day... could I maybe add something else that would build up muscle without losing weight please?
It's reassuring to know that Glenda doesn't look underweight... I can only go by what the nurse told me though 🙂

Thank you @MarilynL - my nurse wants me to weigh 57-58kg by the time I go back for my blood pressure check in January which means about 1.4kg a month or 300g a week for her to be happy with me next time I see her. I've just been aiming to turn my calorie input/output graph in my Fitbit app red as significantly as possible every day and it's worked for the last 2 weeks, so I'm right on target, thankfully. 🙂

Wow Amanda the exercises you are doing at home are great! Make sure you are doing them with correct stances and breathing. So excellent. Are you also able to do some walking? What do you mean you can't get to the end of your street? Is it blocked? Covid or that you don't have the energy for it?

Thanks again, @MarilynL - I think my stances are fine, but keep meaning to ask about the breathing for the planks especially 'cos I can't seem to breathe properly while I'm doing them 'cos I'm concentrating so hard on not falling off the bed (getting onto the floor and back up is pretty much impossible for me). My legs just aren't strong enough to take me beyond our two neighbours (one on each side of our mid-terrace house) twice a day when I walk our senior rescue Westie... fortunately she's got small legs so doing those "laps" twice a day is all she needs and can cope with. I walk her first thing in the morning then spend the rest of the day recovering before our evening strolls. She's getting groomed this morning so I'm gonna take her for her walk now then leave her harness and lead on ready for my sister-in-law to pick her up and take her over there then bring her back for us.
I used to do laps of our tiny back yard so that I could cling on to the bathroom wall and my quad cane safe in the knowledge that I could shout for help if my legs gave way, but I've stopped doing those since I've been told to put on weight and I really miss them lol

Congratulations on your fabulous results! What are you doing in the nutritional area to get such good results? Well done.
I am posting my week's results here as I am not 'allowed' by the site to just post for some crazy reason.
this week I am 134.6 which is 2 lbs down from last Friday so great going and where I have been balancing. I would like to loose a further 5 lbs but will take it easy till we are able to be out and about and not thinking of food as a reliever of boredom!

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened to start me throwing up, it literally came out of nowhere... I was at work and felt absolutely fine, when it got to lunchtime I went and had my usual jacket potato and still felt absolutely fine but within half an hour of sitting back at my desk I was violently throwing up and was sent home by my boss.
Woke up next morning and felt absolutely fine again, so went back to work and picked up where I'd left off the previous day. Lunchtime came, I bought myself my normal jacket potato again and felt absolutely fine until about half an hour later again when I was violently blowing chunks again. My boss sent me home with strict instructions to see my GP and get signed off until I stopped throwing up.
My GP prescribed a week's worth of anti-emetics and they worked brilliantly, so I went back to work with my new prescription in my bag.
I was fine until I had my lunch and you'll never guess what happened lol I downed a couple of the anti-emetics and carried on working.
My work colleagues started to get concerned about me looking green and yet again my boss sent me home.
I was bored out of my tree watching day-time television so I asked Dr Google what it could be and how to stop being sick all the time. Dr Google said to try ginger as long as I wasn't pregnant, so I went back into town to get myself a pregnancy test and can of ginger beer. I did the pregnancy test while I was still in town and it was negative so I opened the ginger beer and nervously took a sip.
It didn't come back up for the first time in 3 days, so I took another sip which stayed down too... had Dr Google been right? Was ginger beer the answer to me being able to go back to work without chucking my guts up?
A lot of nausea and temporary relief using ginger beer (about 3-6 months I think, but could be wrong) later and I spotted an advert for food allergy testing in a health food shop in town. It was expensive at about £50 but maybe this was what was wrong with me? I went in, paid my last £50 in my account and booked my slot. When my appointment rolled around I went to it and was tested for something like 50-75 different foods. I was intollerent or allergic to everything except meat (I've been vegetarian since I was 12), soya, ginger, sugar and water. The nutritionist had never seen so many - she said that her previous highest had been about 35. I asked for some recipe ideas and she seriously struggled to come up with anything.
Went back downstairs and into the health food shop and stocked up on everything soya and ginger. The assistant asked if I'd found the food allergy testing useful and I laughed and explained that I'd be stocking up on ginger in a big way from now on. She suggested crystalised ginger to help with the nausea when I was feeling especially sick. I nervously grabbed their entire supply and paid for it all. It sent me overdrawn, but by that point I was willing to try anything to stop feeling sick and get back to work again.
I got home and nervously opened the first small packet of crystalised ginger.
Took a bite.
It didn't come back up.
By the time I'd finished the pack the nausea had completely disappeared.
I got straight on the phone to my GP and got an appointment to discuss the results of the test I'd had at the health food shop.
His response was that he "didn't believe in food allergies" and by this point I'd given up trying to get support from him so went searching for a different doctors surgery.
I spotted one and got straight on the phone to them.
Within a week I had a new doctor, support and an urgent referral to a Gastroenterologist. I'd lost my job by this point and the pretty much constant throwing up meant that I'd gone from size 10 to size 6. The appointment was a week later. I got poked and prodded and tested for pretty much everything under the sun and the Gastroenterologist even agreed to test me officially for food allergies.
I was too ill to leave the house soon after that, which must have been 2002 and I couldn't even get out of bed safely so had to rely on my hubby to empty sick, wee and poo down the toilet for me.
Fast forward to Christmas Day and I apparently insisted that the hubby spent the day with his family as a break from emptying out what my body was producing. He said that he came home at about 7pm to find me unconscious in bed and I'd wet myself too so he got straight on the phone to NHS Direct and explained my recent medical history, they sent the ambulance and I was rushed straight to the ICU.
Apparently by the time I got to the Neurology ward I was significantly psychotic so was tranquilised and put onto the maximum dose of anti-psychotics. I remember exactly nothing about it, but I left the hospital in mid-March 2003 with my current diagnosis including the dairy allergy and I've slowly been recovering ever since.
My leg problems started before I was rushed into hospital because my too-low weight meant that I just couldn't safely stay upright and I've never been right ever since. It just is what it is and I'm used to it now.
Bet you regret asking now, @MarilynL? lol

@AmandaGeorge Thank goodness you got a different doctor and allergy tests.!!! Hard to believe some crazy doctor said he didn't believe in food allergies. It's a wonder you didn't go into allergic shock and die. My daughter is allergic to almost everything now it seems to me but including peaches and metals. Horrible situation. One day she was having trouble and I insisted we take her to a medical clinic (before we knew anything about all her allergies). As soon as we walked in they asked her if she was having trouble breathing and they took her FIRST. ( It was peaches.) I tease my children sometimes that they are adopted. They are not anything like me; they are tall for instance!!! I'm not allergic to anything but cedar trees which overwhelmed me after living in Austin Texas for a year. We can all develop allergies. Take care, best wishes. 😃 Glenda
This is in the weekly weigh -in and I forgot to say, I weigh 117 today.

Thank you @Glenda - I feel that he just didn't like me 'cos he's still my hubby's GP and Steve's still with him. I'm happy with my current GP practice now though and ain't gonna go anywhere else unless something big goes wrong again lol The doctor that did the urgent referral has retired now but I'm happy with his replacement too. My current GP is either ill or approaching retirement too 'cos I haven't seen him since the lockdown but he's replied to letters I've sent him and the doc that I've talked to over the phone (once to get my prescription sorted out after the practice pharmacist reduced it without anyone's knowledge or permission - he got it sorted in under 5 minutes and prescribed enough pills to get me through to the next time I need to order them and once yesterday to arrange memory testing for me... he was shocked that it had been going on since 2003 lol) seems to be great too.
As you can tell from last night's post I understand what it's like to be allergic to everything too. Does your daughter hate it when foods have new recipes in case they've added one of her allergens to it? Especially if it's a favourite food of hers?

UK and US clothes sizes are different, so UK size 10 is US size 6. I'm 5 foot and aiming to get to size 10 so the lady that's an inch taller than me is aiming to get into the same size clothes as me, and you're currently wearing size 8-10 in the UK too, @MarilynL.
