The last time I reported here was on November 26, 2018. Then I left on an epic 10-day trip to France to visit family (during which I gained 2.4 kg!!!) and I fell off the wagon, bad me!
So it’s time to get back in and bring some structure and planning. I didn’t stop weighing daily, though, and I’ve now updated by Excel sheet and graphs. Here is where I currently stand:
I was supposed to end a 14-week maintenance phase at my new low of 58-59 kg in late November, and start a 18 to 20 week muscle gaining phase from there, that would bring me to 64 kg. Well, things didn’t go as planned because I already gained half of what I was supposed to in the first 10 days. So my bulking green curve looks quite silly, but I’ve almost reconnected with the blue curve. I intend to end the bulking phase at the end of March (that will be week 16, i.e. 2-4 weeks earlier than initially planned), hopefully at no more than 64 kg, and start a new fat loss phase (12 weeks) in early April. Hopefully I would be at my leanest at the end of June, just before the Summer season and my annual vacation.
I provided some body fat stats while answering another topic. On a positive note, it looks like I will be about 1.5% leaner (16 vs. 17.5% BF) at the same weight (64 kg) than when starting my previous fat loss phase in June 2018. My hope is to reach a new low (12% or less) at the end of June 2019. We’ll see how things go!
I ended my previous diet in early September 2018 and – after six months of not dieting – I’m now almost eager to start over again .

@DominiqueNice to see you back!
Missed reporting in last week. I finally have moved beyond my previous low of 212.1. Only took 5 weeks. Kinda odd how I got stuck at 212 again like I did 10 years ago when doing Weight Watchers. But this time I stuck with it and prevailed. Hopefully I can keep making progress these next 8 weeks before my next maintenance phase.

No change this week. Next week will be a challenge with the basketball tournament starting on Thursday. If I'm smart, I'll cut back 500 calories or so Mon - Wed to give myself some wiggle room Should start that today, but it is Saint Patrick's day, and the probably means at least one beer. 🙂

Week 15 of muscle gaining phase, lost a quarter of a kilo again.
Week 12, ending 25-Feb-18: 63.6 kg, 21.0k steps, 2990 cal. -> +0.07 kg
Week 14, ending 4-Mar-19: 63.3 kg, 21.1k steps, 3123 cal. -> -0.29 kg
Week 14, ending 11-Mar-19: 63.0 kg, 15.0k steps, 2760 cal. -> -0.27 kg
Week 15, ending 18-Mar-19: 62.8 kg, 9.8k steps, 2393 cal. -> -0.27 kg
I’m now (barely) "in the zone", i.e. within the range at which I was supposed to gain, for the first time!
I’m flying to the Carribean (Martinique) tomorrow for one week. It will be a mix of work and pleasure, with a lot of socializing and eating, so I expect to gain 1.5 - 2.0 kg. I’ll try my best to resist temptation, but I’ll probably have to do some damage control upon return.

Well, my weight is down from last week, but I don't recommend my methods. While I did get my flu shot this year, it does not appear to have saved me. What started as a headache and scratchy throat on Wednesday turned into body shakes and constant coughing throughout the night Thursday and Friday, and my temperature was up to 103 yesterday when I went to the doctor. Got some cough syrup to manage symptoms and made it through last night with pretty good sleep. Temperature is down to 100 today, I feel like I'm on the road to recovery, but my appetite is still minimal.
Interestingly, my RHR is not much a predictor of my health as it seemed trail how bad I felt. My normal range is 56-63. On Wednesday, when I was just starting to feel sick RHR was 56, but it was 56 on Thursday too, when I had full on shakes. Friday it jump 4 BPM to 60, and Saturday 64, just over my high normal. Today, at 67 bpm, is the first day it is clearly outside of normal, but I've definitely been full blown sick for 4 days now.

Lost another -1.5 pounds during the last two weeks since my last update. Certainly not losing my target of -1.5 pounds per week though I am usually about -750 calorie deficit everyday. Though one day on the weekend tends to be closer to almost no deficit. I guess that may be what is holding me back. At least I'm still going in the right direction.

Worst of the flu is over, I hope. Lowest weigh-in was just under 154 lbs a couple days ago and the last few days have been closer to 155 lbs. (The TrendWeight number I report trails daily weigh-ins a bit because it is a multi-day moving average). Been able to eat more the past few days and got out for a few walks and a bike ride over the past couple of days.

I missed last week’s reporting because of trip to Martinique, so adding two weeks:
Week 12, ending 25-Feb-18: 63.6 kg, 21.0k steps, 2990 cal. -> +0.07 kg
Week 14, ending 4-Mar-19: 63.3 kg, 21.1k steps, 3123 cal. -> -0.29 kg
Week 14, ending 11-Mar-19: 63.0 kg, 15.0k steps, 2760 cal. -> -0.27 kg
Week 15, ending 18-Mar-19: 62.8 kg, 9.8k steps, 2393 cal. -> -0.27 kg
Week 16, ending 25-Mar-19: 63.2 kg, 12.1k steps, 2510 cal. -> +0.46 kg
Week 17, ending 1-Apr-19: 63.2 kg, 15.5k steps, 2642 cal. -> -0.03 kg
I ended up gaining less that I feared during my trip to Martinique and I was able to stabilize things upon return:
My "dirty bulking" green curve is now within the target range and I’m still below the upper limit of 64 kg I had set for this gaining phase, so I’ll continue for another 1 or 2 weeks before starting a new fat loss phase.
Body fat % has been slowly, but steadily creeping up for the past three months, which I see as a sign it’s time to do something about it:
Gotta get rid of those love handles!

I’m pretty much at goal now, and past the flu (I hope). My aim is to stay around this weight for the next three or four months without relying too much on logging food in MFP. It is a bit of an evolution in weight management for me. My big weight drop (from around 200 lbs to 160 lbs) occurred over eight months in 2017, and I logged just about everything thing I ate during that period and for all of 2018. This year I’ve tried to log less and depend more on just eating to satiety for regular meals without snacking. Seems to be working so far.

Haven't posted in a while, still at it. This weight loss period has its ups and downs for sure. Only one month to go, hope I can finish strong and be down to around 200 before I go back on maintenance. Lost -1.4 pounds this last week, which makes up for no loss the week before which had a few going out to eat occasions. I didn't feel like I over ate, but I guess it was enough not to budge the scale. Also I bumped up my daily steps to 9,000 from 8,000 on April 1st. Haven't missed yet. I plan on bumping my daily steps up to 10,000 starting in July.
