I missed last week’s reporting, so am including numbers for the past two weeks. Week 13/14 of extended maintenance phase (was previously 8 weeks), where the goal is to keep the weight between 58 and 59 kg:

Week 0, ending 27-Aug-18: 58.8 kg, 15.2k steps, 3008 cal. -> -0.82 kg

Week 1, ending 3-Sep-18: 58.2 kg, 15.9k steps, 2935 cal. -> -0.64 kg

Week 2, ending 10-Sep-18: 58.0 kg, 16.1k steps, 2844 cal. -> -0.19 kg

Week 3, ending 17-Sep-18: 57.8 kg, 14.2k steps, 2572 cal. -> -0.19 kg

Week 4, ending 24-Sep-18: 58.2 kg, 16.2k steps, 2796 cal. -> +0.34 kg

Week 5, ending 1-Oct-18: 58.2 kg, 15.1k steps, 2722 cal. -> +0.04 kg

Week 6, ending 8-Oct-18: 58.6 kg, 12.4k steps, 2595 cal. -> +0.41 kg

Week 7, ending 15-Oct-18: 58.4 kg, 14.6k steps, 2718 cal. -> -0.19 kg

Week 8, ending 22-Oct-18: 58.5 kg, 11.7k steps, 2498 cal. -> +0.01 kg

Week 9, ending 29-Oct-18: 59.5 kg, 12.3k steps, 2408 cal. -> +1.06 kg

Week 10, ending 5-Nov-18: 59.6 kg, 10.8k steps, 2493 cal. -> +0.13 kg

Week 11, ending 12-Nov-18: 58.7 kg, 11.3k steps, 2233 cal. -> -0.89 kg

Week 12, ending 19-Nov-18: 59.3 kg, 11.1k steps, 2389 cal. -> +0.59 kg

Week 13, ending 26-Nov-18: 58.8 kg, 12.9k steps, 2560 cal. -> -0.53 kg

I gained about half a kilo during week 12 and lost it during week 13, so back in maintenance range (I wish I were closer to the lower end, though).

Body fat is back under 13%, though still higher than in mid-October (which was my all-time low):

I’m travelling to France on Thursday for 10 days to visit family, so will be missing next Monday’s reporting. This trip will likely be challenging for weight maintenance, with lots of delicious food available, and maybe relatives insisting I’m too thin and something needs to be done about it Smiley LOL.

Gained .9 kg this week = not good. 🙁 Am leaving Thursday for a desperately needed vacation, my first this year. Hope the warmth and sunshine in Tenerife will perk me and my metabolism up. #hopeful

Same as last week - Lost another .6 pounds this week. I'd call that a win amongst all the turkey, stuffing, and wine. Haha. Plus, my trendweight is now under 180 -- always an important milestone for me, and it's good to eclipse the 10 pound weight loss mark since I started tracking about 11 weeks ago.

Been a couple of weeks since posting. Vacation, work, Thanksgiving all got in the way and I kept forgetting to post my weigh in. Good news is I am still trucking along and I didn't gain any weight the week I was on vacation. However I still have to weigh in for last week, so hopefully my two Thanksgivings won't cause any gain. Last full week of dieting and as of December 1st, I am back on maintenance for a couple of months. Lost -1.9 pounds for my weekly weigh in. My best in quite a while. Finally got past 50 pounds lost total. Feels great. Still going to try to loose another 40 or so.

@HisDudeness - While some might be unhappy with a ‘mere’ 1 lb/week loss, over the course of 2018 you have dropped 50+ lbs!  I really think this type of slow and steady approach reinforces ‘weigh less’ habits that will last a lifetime.  I look forward to watching your continued progress in 2019.

@BaltoscottThanks! Yeah when it is week to week, 1 pound doesn't seem like a lot. But looking at the long term it adds up. Hopefully losing it slow will help keep it off when I am done.

Starting trendweight on 9/10/18 - 189.9

Current trendweight after 12 weeks of tracking - 179.3 (down 10.6 pounds)

Just lost .2 pounds of weight since last week...I did have a couple intentional slip-ups, such as a big meal and cake to celebrate my son's birthday. Had a few cocktails throughout the week too, which of course doesn't help. As is shown from the chart though, slow and steady is still happening. I have to remind myself to be happy with losing about 11 pounds in 12 weeks. But still need to keep it going.

The thing I love about Trendweight is how it shows body fat % percentage. You can see that continues to drop, even when the weight isn't. So I must be doing something right.

+ 1.8 lbs over two weeks.

Just got back from a 10-day cruise from Rome to Barcelona.  So many beautiful things to see.  And so many multi-course meals consumed Man Surprised  Yikes!

The TrendWeight change of 1.8 lbs masks the more than 5 lbs difference between my last two weigh-ins.

BIG jump between scale readings, but TW change not that bad ...BIG jump between scale readings, but TW change not that bad ...

I think the smaller TrendWeight number is a better indication of the true 'damage.'  There will still be plenty of opportunities to overeat the rest of December what with several work- and family-related holiday celebrations coming up, but it should be a little easier to manage that than all the many yummy food options and free booze that was available EVERY SINGLE MEAL on the cruise!

So time to get back into the routine and to break out the good habits.  Hopefully, the trend will be reversed by next week.

@HoosierDaddy73 -- your fat % drop over the past 12 weeks is really impressive. You are definitely doing something right!

@HisDudeness  - I've always thought the 'diet break' strategy advocated by @Dominique made a lot of sense, but you are one of the first fitbitters with a large weight loss goal who I've seen try to implement and document it.  I know it is a challenge to deliberately stop losing weight when you know you have more work to do and it seems to be going so well.  There is tendency to worry about losing momentum.  But you really seem to have the hang of it.  Keep up the good work.  I think it will benefit you when it comes to avoiding the regain of weight that many of us have experienced after successful losses.

First week of maintenance done. Lost -0.5 pounds. I also have now lost 20% of my starting weight, so I have set my new goal of 190, which is another 10% of my starting weight. But for the next 8 weeks I am going to enjoy eating a bit more and just maintain. Treated myself and upgraded to the Versa from the Charge.

@BaltoscottYeah it sounds counter productive to stop and maintain. The first time I did it, I was really worried about losing momentum , but thankfully that didn't happen. Props to @Dominique for his sage advice. I truly do believe now that losing it slowly is best way to go. Frustrating at times due to the slow pace, but the long term results have been great. Also from first hand experience both an extended family member and a friend went on diets this year as well. They both did much more quick style diets and at times lost more than I had (even though I started before them) and they have both quit and have gained most it back. Hopefully they will try again when they are ready. I hope I don't slide back after I am done. I do feel like I've made good changes and I like the changes...so maybe it will stick.
