looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.

Anyone?

Hi there!  I just had my 50th birthday in December.  I just bought my Fitbit HR on Thursday and have been tracking and walking since.  I want to connect with others that are on this path too!  🙂

Congratulations on your weight loss.

I am at my heaviest weight too, and got a gift card from my oldest son for my 51st birthday.  So found fitbit at Best Buy after looking to upgrade my garmin.

All the best with the healthy goals you have.

I'm there too. Want to lose 25 by my 50th in may. Frustrated though, not losing yet. Need to burn a LOT more calories.

I am down, my back is hurting and chiropractor is telling me not to exercise until we get the swelling down, this is a set back and upset, but will still continue to monitor my intake.

I need help with calories in vs calories out. I must be eating in my sleep or taking nibbles that are adding up. Have not lost 1 pound yet! Any advice???

Hi everyone. I use my Fitbit in conjunction with the 5:2 way of life. 2
days fasting by eating no more than 500 calories and 5 days eating
normally (2000 calories). So far lost 6kg since Christmas very easy to
manage.

Have you read Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes?  That might explain some things, especially if you're eating a lot of processed foods or "diet" or "sugar free" foods.

Interesting traveling and I did go over my calories yesterday but approx 200 but my activity is higher.

I weigh in tomorrow.

I'll catch up when I get home!

You need to count everything, including all sauces or condiments. You won’t believe how many calories are in them.

they certainly can add up quickly if you forget to include the condiments... you can BLT ( Bite, lick, taste) your way to a weight gain in no time at all 😞

No have not read the book you are talking about -- but most of the foods we eat are made at home, now we might use sauces or whatnot sometimes or salad dressings for like marinate, but for the most part foods are not processed

how can you only eat 500 calories and not be starving?

Best Answer

500 calories and not starving, oh yeah you can do it.  Just drink water, crystal light, unsweet tea, black cofffee--  eat two eggs and three containers of yogurt
