looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.

Anyone?

I just got fitbit and would love to have people to talk with for support

We can do it, put our BUTTS into it! I suggest trying the weighted hoop. It's so much fun! I'm not in my fifties, but hope I will still be welcome on this fitness journey 🙂

I would like to join this group. I am currently 49 and turning 50 in November. I have been struggling with my weight for the past 7 years. Perimenopause has not been easy and has had an effect on my ability to lose weight and keep fit. I have 20 pounds to lose.

Welcome!  I am 50 and have 32 lbs more to lose.  I have lost 18 lbs since January 5.  The Fitbit is a good tool to help you be more active and track what you eat.

Set goals and check your sucess daily.

I am trying to get many people around my age to friend me so I can maybe do
challenges. Not sure how you do it? LOL

Just figured it out so I sent out a couple of friend request.  More people the better I say.

I' m trying to reach my goal of 10,000 daily steps but today my Zip reset to 0 just after noon!   I know that I had 1600+ steps while I was shopping this morning but it was lost when my Zip reset.  Has anyone else had this happen before????

I have a new reason to use my Zip as I want to lose weight before my son's wedding now planned for October 3rd.  Any help/challenges/encouragement from fellow Fitbit users will be appreciated!

Check the time zone and clock.  It might think it is midnight at noon and it re-set.

I'm 51 had a hysterectomy November of 2013 then quit smoking 8 months ago and having a hard time losing weight.  I workout 4-5 days a week and eat very healthy, lots of protein, vegetables and fruit.  Very slow losing weight.  Is anyone else having this struggle and any advice.

Hi Shortstop
I feel your pain. My journey has been slow and I seem to fall off the wagon often because it is hard to get the scale to move or my clothes to get alittle loose. I seem to be just moving the weight from one spot to
Another. What type of exercise do you do?

shortstop: losing weight at a safe rate, which is 1-2lbs a week, is a good thing. don't ever think of losing weight, especially if it is your goal, as a negative thing. Joanie

Be sure to record Everything you eat. All condiments and sauces etc. It is amazing how many calories can be in the little things that can really mess up your weight loss. Happy Easter and happy stepping!
