looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control. 

 

Anyone?

Since I usually get my walking in during the day, I think I might try practicing my yoga poses while watching.  I just started yoga and I can definitely use practice!  Thanks for your ideas.  I really need to break this awful habit if I ever want to be successful in my weight loss efforts!

I don't know if this would work for but it helps me alot. I actually plan for night snacking since I know sometimes I like to pick at night. I keep prepared snacks in the pantry and fridge that can be my go to if I want a snack. I keep single servings of things like grapes, popcorn, an apple with an oz of cheddar cheese. Sometimes I take mini cucumbers sliced the long way (mini cukes are crunchy) and use them as "chips" with salsa.
On a hot night maybe frozen fruit bar or a yogurt pop - always on a stick pre portioned so I don't take more than a serving.
Trying doing the same with things you enjoy so if you get the urge to snack you have something ready and dont just grab the first thing you see 😊

And an odd thing helps me. I take 10 red hots and eat them 2 at a time. The heat and the cinnamon make me not want anything else. I'm not good with hot things so I eat them really slowly.

Thanks for the encourage and the ice cream tip ;-).   I have been making my step goal of 10k+  for a month now.I am waiting until I see changes in the mirror before I weight myself.Consistency with exercise and watching what we eat is the key.

Hi,
I found that a low carb, high protein diet helps the weight drop quickly.   Its keeping it off that is the problem.  I am trying to do a life time changeto try to make my weight lose permanent.  It is hard though.  Every day Is a new beginning for me.  So if I mess up, I just start over the next day.

I know it is not easy.  I found that by making my exercise a habit it is easier. I exercise at the same time every morning.

I am no expert at this, I just try to find healthy food to graze  on throughout the day.  I say grazing so that you never let yourself get hungry.

Thanks for congrats.  I just an hour exercise everyday at the same time.  I decided to make exercise like brushing my teeth; a necessity.  I also do low carbs and high protein.  I try to graze all day so that I never let myself get hungry.  This is my life time change.  No more diets.  Because with diets, I would always gain the weight back.  So now I find foods that I like within the low carb/high protein category, then that's the only foods I keep in the house.  After a week, you stop craving sweets.  Therefore you can choose when you want to eat something sweet.  Eating this way, you drop the first 10lbs quickly.  The rest of weight no so much. But with time it will come off.  I can see the difference in my arms already 🙂 !!!

Some things I like to graze on are baby carrots, dried cranberries, banana chips, adridic figs and a few almonds. Just eat a few of everything to get your vitamin/nutrient balance.

Hello,

I would like to receive a little encouragement and hear any tips on weight loss. I had surgery in July and have not done well with my weight. I actually think I've sort of become lazy and used the surgery as an excuse, although I know I had to take it easy for 6-8 weeks. However, now, my motivation has left me and I'm eating everything I know I shouldn't be eating. So, I'm determined to get back to healthy.
