Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

Yes, Keltoid, no bread, no rice, no pasta, no sugar, no candy, no cookies, no sweets. I still drink alcohol, but on the days when I do, I cut back on the carbs (and calories) elsewhere.

HiCherita
This is definately a journey for me, I lost 30 lbs and then December happened and I gained like 5 lbs back
I am annoyed at myself but this to shall pass, so 60 more lbs to go. I live in Alberta, Canada and have 3 children who are 37, 38, and 39 and have 9 grandchildren. My partner is a long haul truckdriver so I am alone most of the time. I would love to compare notes and be friends along the way

Terrific accomplishment, Pennalynn! I'm 71 and have struggled with my weight for many years. I had 60 to lose, but it took me a year and a half to do, so kudos to you for bearing down and getting a lot done in such a short amount of time. In the last several years, I developed the "habit" of exercise (thanks go to Fitbit and the YMCA). I use My Fitness Pal to log food and watch my macros and nutrients, as well as calories. Logging food, along with being careful to measure or weigh portions, helps me a lot. Last week I upped my Fitbit step goal to 12k a day, as I was getting the 10k without all that much effort -- and we all need goals, right? Good luck to all of us in this new year with achieving our goals toward better health and fitness!

great that you are doing so well and have a new goal of 12000, no matter it seems i am always working to get that 10000, even though i took only about a month off from it, return home sickness and the holidays kind of threw me off but restarted and it seems a chore, do it at home on a treadmill, would like to get more steps, just to get over the barrier; having trouble.

I just got my fitbit for Christmas and would love to have friends to help motivate me! I just turned 57 and somehow 40 extra pounds seemed to have snuck up on me!
