Hi all, the name is Vic and I am in the UK, recently diagnosed diabetic, overweight and rather unfit so my motivation is simply to get fit and healthy again in order to see the grand children grow up, that gives a clue to my age (over 65 but under 70) started jogging and changed diet feel better already, given a fitbit to help and loved it till an update killed it now lost without it. I get real pleasure from just being active but my 1 guilty pleasure is dark chocolate.

  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? My current goal is to lose 25 pounds and gain more knowledge on nutrition and health.
  3. How do you like to stay fit? Cardio, yoga and weight training
  4. What motivates you? The fact that I got clean off drugs 5 1/2 years ago and let my addiction take hold in other forms, i.e. eating everything in my fridge in one sitting. If I am strong enough to stay clean then I am strong enough to be healthy. Also, my family comes from a long line of health issues and I just don't want to spend my life in a doctors office for one illness or another. 
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure - Do I have to have just one? Haha!!! My one number guilty pleasure is any slice off the Cheesecake Factory dessert menu.

  1. Where in the world are you? I am located in the mitten Michigan of USA and enjoy the four seasons!
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? My goal is to integrate healthy habits daily and ultimately lose some weight!
  3. How do you like to stay fit?Currently I take daily walks with a friend to stay fit but it is definitely the beginning of my journey. 
  4. What motivates you? Currently I am motivated by competing with my fellow fitbit friends and my goal to increase my step count. 
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure, food and relaxing when I get home.
    Looking for like minded individuals to compete friendly with!

Hello,

My name is Debbie and I live in Ravenna, Ohio. I just got the Fitbit versa 2. I am totally lost on how to set it up.  I am trying to lose weight and excercise. I am high risk for this Covid so I don't go out very much.

I will be 69 on July 6th. I need to lose weight. I also need to excercise and drink more water. The fitbit does all of this.  I am not tech savvy so trying to do this on my one, just doesn't work. Any help would be a blessing. Thanks

I lived in the greater Kansas City and my fitness goal is to increase my range of motion and to stay fit.  I love to walk and working out at the gym. The body is a beautiful work of art created by God and to take care of it is important because your health is your wealth.

 

My favorite guilty pleasure is chocolate cake and a glass of moscato during the evening while relaxing on my deck.

Hi. With all the ugly dirty world around me, I am holding tight to keeping ONE place clean and lovely. Can we not bring politics of any kind into Fitbit, please? I need ONE place where I can interact with delightful people and be at peace. It's tough enough with guys in the Fitbit world relentlessly attempting to use this as a pick up site. Adding politics makes it worse.😩 (reference: "Since I'm not black I guess my life doesn't matter in the Fitbit world!!!!! All lives matter...") 😩 Thank you. ✌️

Hi Debbie, don't panic about the set up if I can do it I'm sure you can, it is a great incentive for exercise when you see how many steps done or calories burnt off you will want to do better next time, just don't over do it.

  3. How do you like to stay fit? I love walking but unfortunately I also love eating.
  4. What motivates you? I want to be a healthy person and I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror without thinking yuck!
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure I absolutely love  ice cream bars and french fries. I make my own some times but a lot of the times it is from a fast food restaurant. (When we go fishing we have supper out or doing a clean)

@FitbitCommunity  @mclay77 & @policemomdeb @Nexus   Maybe you could try to replace some of those guilty pleasure favorites to help you with your goals.  I just made some amazingly GREAT black bean brownies  which would amaze you .  An excellent substitute for chocolate cake.  Google: 100 calorie black bean brownies for the recipe.  They are so good you might forget that you need to refrigerate them and maybe take a Beno pill  because they are actually beans.  A  surprisingly good substitute for ice cream  is 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (35 calories) with 1/2 cup plain non fat Greek Yogurt (60 calories) & for extra crunch you can thrown in 1/3 cup of fiber one cereal  which is 65% fiber so less than 20 calories for a total of about 110 calories for 1 & 1/3 cup total.  Surprisingly good and healthy!!  I add artificial sweetener to mine.  And french fries......there are so many vegetables suggested to take the place of potatoes...  maybe try some???

So you want to know a bit about me.  LOL. 

 

I'm just a crazy old man who realized I needed to better my health and change my lifestyle. Me and the wife both are supporting each other in reaching our goals.  So here is the skinny on me:

 

  1. Where in the world are you? - 'm from just outside of Niagara Falls, Ontario
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? - Lose my pot belly!  LOL
  3. How do you like to stay fit? - I'm limited in this as I have mobility issues but I'm forcing myself to enjoy walking
  4. What motivates you? - To be around for a long time for my kids and wife.

  3. How do you like to stay fit? I lift weights and use elliptical or treadmill
  4. What motivates you? Wanting to prove to myself that I can do it again and maintain.
