  1. Where in the world am I? ... Relicated a couple of years ago to the West Coast of Scotland.
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? ... Since a Triple heart bypass 2015, I'm focusing on generally keeping healthy, watching my diet, walking or just being active as best I can walking the beautiful countryside and beaches anything that helps keep my heart healthy ... sad thing is my joints and injuries of my past catching up too, so can't be as athletic as I once was, and with the pandemic hospitals not available for an operation I require on my foot, so its tough being restricted I want to get on with my outward plans but until I get my operation, I'm struggling with various pain and restrictions on my activities ...
  3. How do you like to stay fit? ... when the wrather isn't to pleasant I use general exercises for stretching my joints to try and keep supple and relieving pain, have a static bike for when I can't get out ...walking and hiking in the hills and countryside here is fantastic, and coastal walks always with my camera for company ... I also have an All terrain bike and sometimes out cycling the countryside and coast weather dependant of course, hence the reason for a static bike when weather doesn't suit 😉
  4. What motivates you? ... my willingness to want to be as fit as my body will allow me, Fitbit is really my motivator, its always there on my wrist to remind me to move, movement is key to keeping my mind active, reminding me to put some effort into my day, I enjoy targets can't always meet them but its the want to try my best with the time I have, being retired gives me opportunities to do what I like when I like, I record all my activities with a few friends I share photographs of where my activities take me (oh I think fitbit should allow more space for photographs of ones activities, as Strava does!)
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure ... Well if that's food, then a nice piece of fish preferably Fish 🐟 a salmon please ... following that I do sneak a piece of chocolates occasionally but only if my step count is good ... activity pleasure swimming but there isn't much chance with the pandemic I'll be purchasing a wet suit to take up beach swims off the West Coast... one other but I don't think I should be sharing that ... Lastly one note your advertisement email today was rather biased, I won't comment why, but to distribute an advert to one gender specific is not how I see the world, I would hope that the future of fitbit isn't virtue signalling ... have a great life, live it the best you can ... I will!

Howzit, I just strapped on a new Sense in South Africa, 4 days ago and so far  I am quite chuffed. Only problem is we metricated from archaic measurements in 1962, so I am used to fluids in  cubic centimeters or liters, distances in kilometers, weights in  grams and kilograms and temperatures in Celsius. The chaps in the UK are hybrid with C and Miles, and the Americans are further removed from enlightenment 🙂

Welcome @Fitter75. I’ve heard about this metric system you speak of. Seems like we’ve been trying to adopt it in America for the past 50 years, but it will probably be another 50 before it really takes.  We don’t measure our weight in stones, though, so we’ve got that going for us 🙂

Welcome @Fitter75 and thanks for getting back to us @Baltoscott

@Fitter75, well, I get confused with those different metric measurement. Sometimes when I go to the doctor they take my weight in Kg and I have to make the change on my mind to pounds. Last time my weight was 44 Kg and I was like... It's too little. Arrg, I don't like it.

  1. Where in the world are you? NY
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? Lose weight (20 pounds to go), control high blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, get off BP meds. I have some arthritis in my knees, so it makes a lot of activity painful.
  3. How do you like to stay fit? watching tv. HA.  I try to walk (outdoors/treadmill at gym), RINGFIT (on Switch) and play outdoor games with granddaughter. Gym used to have a fun KICKBOXING class, but not anymore. and YOUTUBE videos just don't cut it.
  4. What motivates you? feeling healthy enough to play outdoor games.
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure: ICE CREAM & Netflix (Hulu, HBOMAX, Amz Prime, Discovery+, Showtime, you get the idea. i LOVE TV. and let's not forget all the BRAVO "housewives of..." franchises). Always feel less guilty if I've hit my step goal (7,500) and some energetic minutes.

Are you by any chance in NY? Our goals and answers seem similar. Imagine if we were neighbors and could walk together in a nearby park.

Thanks, I am trying to shed 10 Kg to get my BMI out of overweight into the Normal Zone . I am presently walking my 2xdogs on a hilly 4 km road.. doing average of 11min.per Km.( I had 2x Stents inserted into my CA). So far have taken off 5 Kg...and with cutting out carbs and sugar, its going my way, with goalposts visible on the horizon..! Thanks for a great tool that is proving most usefull and inspirational.

Thanks @ baltiscott, yeah we had the awkward British monetary system.. of pounds , shillings and pence( penny), miles to go and petrol by the gallons and weights in pounds ( lbs)!
The shilling was made up of 12 pennies..then you also had half- pennies and even a farthing (1/4p)!!!. and 20 shillings was 1 pound !? Why not 10:10:10? To assist with the change over ( pardon the pun) the Govt launched a radio campaign with main character called Decimal Dan...singing lyrics to brainwash us about decimalisation... telling us we have 10 fingers and that everything decimal are multiples of that number.
The easy conversion of Kg to Lbs. .. double the weight (Kg) and add 10% of the doubled sum to get total in lbs....i.e. 44 Kg becomes 88 lbs + 8.8 lbs = 97 lbs.... (multiplied by 16 to get ounces!!)😳
Once you’ve gone metric its like eating biltong ( our Jerky), once tasted you cannot pass a Biltong vendor without wiping the drool away.
Cheers.

Hello Everyone: I'm based in Cleveland, Ohio. I have a set goal of 43 lbs by end of year 2021. I love walking. I do it on a daily basis and keep myself extremely busy helping others. I love cooking everyday for myself and others as well. I do eat vegetables and fruit daily. I enjoy having the fitbit to keep me focused on my goal. Leave it to the universe and the good Lord above to help me with this goal.

Thank you,
