Bring back the Fitbit One

Really?  The Fitbit One is MY device.  Now you go and pull it?  For the record I have purchased five (5) of these devices.  What are the "owners" thinking about other than money?  I want something with a clip, or I keep in my pocket - period.  I don't want to wear on my wrist, that is where my watch resides.  When dealing with 'chat' I was told the Inspire is an option.  Really?  I do not want or care about Advertised battery life is Five (5) days? I How is that better than the FOURTEEN (14) days I used to get with my Fitbit One.  And, I was told the "inspire" does NOT count floors?  This was a great feature which made me look for flights of stairs.  I do not care for "notifications" from social media apps, that is what my phone or PC is for.  When my Fitbit One finally dies, I will be a Former Fitbit customer.  #mostdisappointedatfitbit #bringbackfitbitone

So I deleted my Fitbit One from my account on the app.  I then powered my One off by placing it into its charger and holding down the button.  I then setup my One as a new device on my account, which prompted me to enter in four numbers, and it is now working - it synched my steps from today; however, nothing synched from yesterday.  So far its working, but I hope that this issue does not continue.

Fitbit help via their chat was polite but less than helpful.  They basically told me to reuse a replacement Fitbit One from three years ago that they provided that I found this afternoon after our chat, charged it, and it will not turn on as it did not three years ago.  Their advice on my existing One was to properly recycle it.  I'm disappointed with Fitbit.  9+ years and almost 21,000 miles logged ... might be time to look for something new.  I can't help but find it coincidental that this month my battery depletes almost daily and now won't sync.  Im hopeful this is just a temporary issue with all the new iOS updates which seem to be weekly this month.

I have the latest iOS but had to reinstall the app this morning and made sure the Bluetooth was connected. Sorry yours is not working

I am with you too! I’m having trouble right now syncing  with the new iOS update and there were issues before that even actually. I am not spending $229 for the latest Fitbit one. I downloaded a free app which means I have to haul my phone around with me but that’s OK as long as I get the information I want

oh, i thought this was just me!

my One got washed and dried by a helpful family member doing laundry when i was overseas for a funeral in August.  it seemed ok, but i didn’t wear it the rest of the trip because everything was so upended.  when i got home, it was dead but wouldn’t charge.   i decided maybe it was a water problem, put it in rice and forgot about it for. a month.  the next it charged, but was dead by day’s end .  repeat x2.

now i i log in and others are having the same without having washed it!

i guess i am done with fitbit.  6 years of data lost to me.    i cannot wear a wrist tracker, i fidget with and destroy watches and jewelry, (and ballpoint pens and such) it’s an autism thing.  if anyone find someone a worthwhile clip on, let me know! .

It's been discontinued for a few years and I'm also very disappointed. I like the idea of the Inspire as you can place in a clip or wear on your wrist, BUT would prefer the HR version. I would like to see HR with a clip and "clip mode" so I can conceal when I want, which is most of the workday. When in "clip mode" the HR feature should just be disabled. Like others, I also don't want to see flights of stairs disappear. Will likely stop using Fitbit when my One dies. I'm ready to "upgrade" if there's a product that meets my needs and desires like the One.

When I first got my FB One, the charged lasted 5-7 days, hen at some point the IT folks did an update that extended the battery life to 10-12 days, which was wonderful. I don't use bells and whistles on my One, just steps. I don't need a "hello" or any other information on the device clipped on my pocket.

Ever since the September update my charger is lasting 2-4 days. My suspicion is that FB is doing something  with continuous updating that is making our charge duration unreliable.

I'm 75 and the only exercise I do is my 10,000 steps per day. But I do it, no matter what, which my doctor fully supports.  Tracking my food, stairs and water consumption are also important.

As to wrist devices, I'm allergic to anything but stainless steel or silver, and I already wear a watch.

What bothers me most is the apparent lack of interest that Fitbit is showing to those of us customers who were their first supporters.  I was so happy with my One that I told everyone about it and probably 15 of my elderly friends also got a FB One.

Some have gone on to wrist trackers because of the HB monitor, other are just hanging on till their device dies and then will find another company to support.

I think it's great that there are "community" leaders (on behalf of FB?) but I sure would like a statement from Fitbit itself. There's nothing worse to me, regarding customer service, than being a customer who is totally ignored.

I had the same problems with short battery life when Fitbit released their Android app ver 3.7, so I rolled back to 3.6, which has been fine, with a long battery life.  Ver 3.8 has just been released, but I want to know if the battery life problem has been sorted out.  If it has, I will upgrade, if not I'll stick with 3.6.

Please keep us all up-to-date on this.  If the battery problem isn't addressed, I'll do what you've done and go back to an earlier version.

A Fitbit user since about 2012, and lover of the One.  Went through a half dozen, and found my late wife had stashed some for future use.  But they failed to ever start.after they discontinued the One.

I also hate watches, which I would have to remove in my working years. Loved being able to clip it on my undershirt over my chest. Perfect accurate.  The watch I have now seems to record many steps while I am driving long distance in my van.  Moving the unit further from the center of the body is less accurate.  Dissappointed in this company I once loved, that they will not respond to an obvious desire for a more central body units.

At 75 years old, it seems clear that I am not in the demographic Fitbit wants to get money from. Utility not bells and whistles is what I want.  The most disturbing thing is the lack of interest in even acknowledging major issues brought up by their non-young adult customers.

So far, 48 hours after fully charging and upgrading to Android version 3.8, my Fitbit has used up 10% of the battery and no problems synching.  Looks like problem solved.

Totally agree with you.  I do not want to wear one.  I just throw it in my pocket.  My wrist should be for a watch or jewelry.  Also, since I live in a two-story house with a basement, I am very interested in knowing how many flights of stairs I take in a day.

I agree completely.  No other Fitbit has the battery life of my One and the ability to use it with a clip.

I guess I have lucked out.  I have had my Fitbit One since Christmas 2012. It still holds battery charge for close to 2 weeks. I have been having problems with getting it to sync.  But after doing reset a few times, all of a sudden it syncs.  When my One completely stops working, not sure which product I will buy to replace it.

Has anyone tried buying a new or used One from Ebay? Have they worked for you?

I lost my original Fitbit One. I was really upset about it as I had it for years and years. It was lucky I had spare Fitbit One and it was so simple to backup the data on to the new one.

What I really like about the Fitbit One is the long battery life up to 2 weeks before I need to recharge it. It looks unintrusive and is simple to use. The Fitbit One shows and collects all the data I need.

Just clip it on and go.

I wouldn't know what to do if I had to replace this Fitbit One, I don't want to buy any other product.
