Fitbit One not Syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit One has been counting steps and working fine however when I go to sync it to my phone, it will not sync. In the app it says that it has successfully synced and my calories burned sync however my steps do not.

I have had the same problem. I have a solution!

I installed the Windows 10 app on my PC and now my phone (Pixel XL) syncs just fine. The problem is not the phone or the Fitbit - but the app!

After I downloaded the app on my PC, I put the dashboard on my Home Screen and even when I am away from my PC my phone syncs with no issues.

Oh man!  That's awful!!!  I found success on my laptop (Windows 10).  The things I tried included updating my phone app, rebooting my One many times, rebooting my phone and One together, shutting off my One and my phone's Bluetooth then restarting both, logging out of my app then logging back in, plus combinations of all the above combined.  I am so thankful I can get it to work on my laptop but I will be without when I travel and will miss out on collecting information on long hikes and walking treks.  I'm so bummed!  I love the One and hate to leave Fitbit but I will not wear something on my wrist so when this stops working, I'll have to change companies.  I'm bummed.

Is there a way to restart Fitbit One without a computer? Hasn’t synced since Monday the 17 when I plugged it in to charge. Updated app, Bluetooth off and on. Deleted app and reinstalled. Just keeps saying searching for Fitbit.

My Fitbit One will not sync unless I plug it in to its charger and reset it (hold the button down for 10 - 12 seconds). After a reset it sync one time then fail with "Tracker not found" with any future sync attempts. I am using Pixel 2 running the latest version of Android Pie with the September 2018 security patch. Unsure if my problem started with the latest security patch or the latest version of Fitbit app which I see was updated on the 9/17/18. I have FitBit version 2.79 on my phone. Tracker will sync with my work provided iPhone but I would prefer to sync with my personal phone as I am not always carrying my work phone.

@Nmkorte Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for posting your inquiry regarding the restart steps. Thanks for trying all of those steps in order to sort this out.

I think the restart should definitely help you out. Yes, it is possible to restart without using a computer. You can use a UL-Certified wall charger to restart it. It should work properly after doing this.

Also, if it is not syncing after doing this you can try the troubleshooting steps on my post above in the order give there for best results (try the steps again if you already did them before).

@cenla_cathy Thanks for your reply and for trying the restart steps. I'm really glad they have worked for you. I'm also glad you are back on track now. Hopefully, this will help for other users as well.

Thanks for sharing the workaround that helped you out.

@NickGailfus It's great to see you in the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to share all of the details about the situation you are experiencing with your One tracker. Thanks for trying the restart steps and for updating the Fitbit app for Android.

Currently, there is a situation in which some users are not able to sync with Android devices after updating to Android Pie. I believe this is the situation you are experiencing right now.

This is being checked by our team and any updates will be shared on this official thread. Feel free to keep an on that thread for the updates.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I upgraded my FB Connect on my computer and now my One isn't recording sleep like it used to. Not sure if it's the app or the One.  I start the sleep timer every night and turn off when I wake up, but no sleep is recording when I sync.   One shows Fitbit 6.60 .  Connect shows  v 2.0.2.7066 .  I don't have a phone to install app ..have to use computer

Fitbit is tracking steps but not synching to devices or web.  last synch @ 1 am.   Did they cut service for One?

ok, I performed a reset per instructions for the One.  it is now synching.

  1. Plug your charging cable into your computer.
  2. Plug your Fitbit One tracker into the charging cable, making sure that the gold contacts on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger.
  3. Hold down your tracker's button for 10-12 seconds.
  4. Remove your tracker from the charging cable and press its button until the screen turns on

I have the same exact problems with everyone. It is really annoying that I have to reset my one each time I want to sync.  It would be really good if this can be fixed and syncing occurs without having to reset the one each time.  It is not working as per what it should do.  Asking us to reset each time is just not feasible.  It also doesn’t remind you that your battery is getting low.  Please fix the problem rather than asking us to reset the unit each time we want to sync our one.  Thanks.

I have been going through the same frustration.  My one won't stay synced with my Android at all.  If and when it does sync it combines a week worth of activity into one day.

I just downloaded the updated app, restarted the phone, reset my One, and still it won't sync with my phone!

Does anyone really care about this problem at FitBit?

It would certainly not seem to be the case.

There is no change for me.  My One will not sync to my Google Pixle XL.  I have done everything on the instructions list many times with no luck.  I can sync the One on my laptop so I try to remember to do that each night but I have lost many days of data because I'm seldom on my laptop.  Discouraging and frustrating.  Plus I can't sync my Aria to my computer - haven't been able to since changing my modem and router about a year ago.  Again, I've followed all directions.

I figured it out - On my phone, on the Fitbit App - I clicked "add new device" and I added the One that was already on there; it sent a number to my One, I typed it in, and it synched it to my phone.  Voila.  I hope this helps.
