One Availability and Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting.

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

I am wondering with the battery and syncing issues if getting a new One is the answer. I bought mine from Fitbit on Sept. 29. It worked fine until the pdate.

This is very disappointing to me as well. Thankfully, my One is currently working just fine.

Basically, you are telling the user community, You can either get our lowest end product, with virtually no functionality that you want, or you can buy something you don't want that sits on your wrist. We don't care that a lot of you want the One. Get over it.

This is not a good move. I get that you are making a business decision, and I get that you are hoping users will understand and move with you. And I'm all for you making whatever decisions you want. But as a user, I will have a decision to make, too. When my Fitbit One breaks down (and it will since everything does), you will either be selling a product that I want (currently you do not since you've discontinued the One) or I will be moving on.

No bad guys. Just decisions.  We all have calls to make. Personally, I think this is a boneheaded move on Fitbit's part. But time will tell. I have not worn a wristwatch in decades. And I will not be buying a wrist product.

I have been posting on their Facebook page. Seems to be more replying from Fitbit there. Hope more go there too.

How did you manage that? My one won’t work at all since they did that last update!

My One packed in with the last update.  I went through Fitbits Facebook Messenger.  They responded and after trying to get things  working (pretty much gave me the same links/instructions that I had already tried) from their end with no solution.   They then got in touch with what I guess would be their main office and lodged a case number?  I soon recieved an email with the case number and a couple more emails back and forth.  I was told that my One was stuck in the update and there was no solution.  I was asked for a copy of the reciept and which country I am in.   The One was a gift so no receipt  could be found, but they offered as a 'once off' replacement a new Fitbit One.  Which has already been shipped.

It will be interesting with the replacement  if it will work with any updates.  At this point I am happy to be given the chance of trying a new One as I miss tracking my steps, sleep and  linking with my friends.

Once this One fails then who knows which direction I will go.

Yes, I eventually got a replacement when I contacted support - it took some persistence to get past the '25% discount' offer on a different product, but I'll be happy if the new one works.

It looks like they're getting rid of remaining stock to keep customers happy.

I only wish they'd focused on improving the One and its accessories - it's the only fitness tracker I've found attractive & convenient for size, shape, and features (barring a heart rate monitor, but most wrist-worn HR monitors are pretty inaccurate anyhow).

Hi
You were very lucky that you got your fit bit one! I too tried to get this product the route you took and spent at least 30 minutes on the phone but was unable to secure one. I did ask that senior management post to the community about this product and future plans (not just buy the latest watch). Also they should take it off their website as an option as it gives a false impression regarding availability.

Too bad about discontinuing the One.  Need a new tracker for my wife because after 4 years the battery only lasts less than a day and she doesn't want to wear a wristband (and the flex 2 has no display so that's not an option).  Tried looking for the Zip in every store possible and it is non-existent.  Tried to order on Fitbit.com and there is a 4-5 week shipping delay so it would be too late for Christmas.  Amazon has them for over $200 which is outrageous.  Too bad Fitbit has no holiday option for these clip trackers.  Maybe they should have waited until after the holidays to discontinue a popular product.  ("popular" is fitbits word, not mine).  also, Fitbit should maybe add assessories to the alta or charge to allow for a clip wearable option seeing one can take the piece off the band

Amazon has a third party clip for the Alta. I have purchased the clip but not the Alta. My One works for the moment. I put on the charger every night losing the sleep option. Once it dies, I will purchase the Alta. I like all the stats etc so I’m not ready to give up on the brand.

@WendyB - Yes, I know it's discontinued.

I wish they had focused on improving it instead of discontinuing it.

I too dislike the wrist option and the ZIP is an expensive pedometer.  Disappointed in their decision to discontinue the One.  I will look for another brand as I do not want to get attached to another Fitbit product only to have them discontinue it on me.

Good for you!

My response when I asked was sorry, try one of our other products.

But I am happy for you!

Thanks for all your replies and comments, FitBit One users.

All they keep telling me now is that their engineers will issue a fix. Fat chance!

I can see why they arrived at their misplaced marketing/business decision, driven by purely their own greed for profit.

What is in my view, criminal and morally disgusting, is the deliberate subterfuge to break all the FitBiit Ones in use by issuing a corrupt update at the time they pull it from the market.

Not sure if trading standards can help us with this. Regretfully this is one of my busiest times of year, so I have limited time resource to pursue this right now.

What we need is one of those law firms who pursue accident claims for people on a no win no fee basis.

One thing is for sure, never again will I spend a penny on a Fitbit product.

I think it's more likely to be a bug in the firmware update - if so, they should be able to fix it by issuing a new firmware update.

I'd hold fire on legal approaches until they've had time to issue a fix - if nothing has appeared by the new year, serious questions should be asked - some redress will certainly be due if the company has damaged the performance of customer devices without warning.

Thanks. I have lost faith and am now rather cynical. They told me to remove the pairing with my IOS device, which i have done.  it is now only synced via windows 10. no joy! battery is dead within a few hours.

How can we have faith that they'll fix the bug if they've discontinued the device?

And--Fitbit is absolutely assuming that everyone CAN wear a wristband unit. Our Veteran population with hand injuries, the amputee community, the nursing home residents, etc--they just cannot wear a wristband unit. The One was a great device for so many of us who are differently abled, I wonder if Fitbit thinks of that?

This makes me so ANGRY!!!! I was having trouble with my original ONE  I spent several hours on the phone with a representative and it could not be fixed so I JUST BOUGHT  a new One in September 2017 for $75 (this was the discounted amount from Fitbit for keeping with their product), directly from the FITBIT site. No mention of discontinuing. I could not get the New One to sync with my phone so I bought a new phone thinking that was the reason for the problems. So today when I am looking for help connecting my One , I found out about the discontinuation .I am out a lot of money  (for phone and Device)and time and still cannot connect. Get your crap together FITBIT! You were once a great company but greed has catapulted you to a new low
